“Clean, convenient and a great breakfast bar”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 May 2012

This central hotel is a ten minute walk from the Coliseum and a twelve minute walk to the main train station (Termini).

Situated near the corner of Emmanuelle Filiberto and Lubicana, the Manzoni subway station is within 50 feet from the entrance to the hotel.

The hotel lobby needs some updating (they are in fact installing new elevators at this time).

The rooms have been recently renovated. They are standard European sized hotel rooms with all of the amenities including telephone, dryer, refrigerator (bar), flat screen TV and WiFi in the room (and in the lobby).

Breakfast if from 6:30 to 10:30 but often opens before as many people have early excursions ant want to eat before leaving. The selection of food is impressive and there is always plenty to eat. This is a popular hotel and the breakfast room can get crowded between 8-9 am.

There is a dinning room in the hotel but with rather limited choices and a bit more expensive than down the street.

We arrived early and had to wait till 2 pm to get our rooms. Checkout is noon.

Staff are helpful and most speak good English. A few words of Italian really get a wonderful smile and response!

135 to 145 euros per night per person!

Room Tip: Book early to get the best deals, I booked a little late and paid 10.Euros per night more than my c...

Plus: 10 steps from Manzoni metro station - direct A line to Termini, Spanish steps, Vatican city; 10 minutes walk on street to Colliseum; clean, however tiny rooms; good choice of breakfast - not only croissants&coffe in local style; reasonable priced drinks in the bar; few groceries just around to buy soft drinks or fresh fruits; free wi-fi in room
Minus: very old slow lifts; not so much good places ( if not to count few small bars ) around to eat real Italian style - at least I didn't managed to find within few days - so better have dinner in the city

I visited Rome around 1st of May with my wife an had stayed at this hotel.
From the previous reviews got from tripadvisor I expected an average hotel, but this was more than I expected. The hotel itself was close to the center and right near a metro station. The rooms were big enough and the bed comfortable. The bathroom a little bit small but clean.
Overall it was good although I have one complain. The rooms are not very sound proof. Our room was close to the floor storage area and every morning the cleaning staff were making noise waking us up.

We were escorte by some italian friends to an italian pizzeria where we ate the best pizza in town. Unfortunately i do not remenber how we got there, but i remember the cue for a table. I'll come back with more details as I will remember. Enjoy Rome!

Room Tip: Avoid the ones near the cleaning staff deposit on each floor.

Room was lovely with nice shower. Fascilities poor. Only one lift working. It was a nightmare waiting for one list with so many people staying. Loby area quite small with limited seating. Very dated. Definitely 3 star rating.

Room Tip: Its a luck of the draw! Many of the rooms vary. some in our party had very little rooms; ours was lo...

There must be better hotels to use in Rome as a sole traveller, but this is a good hotel for groups, right by a metro stop and with well appointed rooms and a smart bar and breakfast room. I've marked it down a point as the breakfast offer was of a pretty basic quality. Also only one creaky lift due to refurbishmnent programme. Hoipefully there will be two modern lifts shortly. On the other hand all staff were helpful, polite and effective.

Room Tip: Front rooms are above a busy road with a tram route, but glazing and ventilation were pretty effecti...

Dear Eppingedger , we thank you for dedicating some of your time in writing your comment about our property.
Thanks also for the comment about the food served for breakfast. All comments, either the good ones than the bad ones, are important in order to understand the services that need to be improved. However we wish to underline that all the products are fresh and daily prepared.
We are well aware of the discomfort we are causing to our customers by having just one lift working and we apologize, but we trust in their understanding that the elevators remaking was necessary in order to offer a better and comfortable stay to all our guests.
We do hope there will then be another chance to host you so to give you the opportunity to experience our best efforts in improving our amenities.
Best regards.
