I have to agree with a number of reviews I read of this hotel, and am deeply disappointed that after filing a complaint with Priority Club and the ICHotel Group to find out that a number of people over a considerable period of time have been complaining on TripAdvisor about the same issues.
For those lured in by the promise of an airport shuttle, be warned: It runs sporadically or sometimes not at all. If you don't catch the shuttle at the appointed time, which runs less than half a dozen times a day from the airport, you will have to shell out anywhere from 30 to 40 euros for a taxi one way. The hotel will offer NO assistance in the shuttle service, saying it is an contractor. It also says it advertises on the holidayinn Web site that it is a limited service. This is not true, and for folks expecting a certain level of service from a Holiday Inn/ICHG property ... well, check your expectations at the door at this hotel.
Also, please note that the bus to and from Rome's city center is oversold and runs on a first come, first serve basis. Even if you have purchased a roundtrip ticket for 5 euro, you can be turned away. Again, the hotel takes no responsibility.
The hotel staff was dismissive about issues with the shuttle, and refused to allow us out of our reservation to find a more convient, better located hotel that did not falsely advertise an airport shuttle... telling me that it noted the shuttle service was timed, etc., on its Web site. As you can see from the number of complaints, that's false.
It also lacks the basic room amenities that one expects with a Holiday Inn overseas, such as a kettle, etc.
I would suggest that you look elsewhere for a hotel if you are planning to use the hotel as a jumping off point to tour Rome. There are better options in the city center, and the taxi rate is about the same.

Room Tip: If you are staying during the still warm fall months, select a room on the side of the building that does not get the afternoon sun. The air conditioning system is poor, and the rooms that bake in the afternoon sun never seem to cool off.

The hotel is old property and since it is in a business district travellers can expect less service from the front desk. Breakfast is great with so many staff helping you. Rooms are old and bathrooms need repairs. Location is ok. Nothing really nearby to eat or go out.

Room Tip: Facing the pool are better.

The very first thing I expect from an hotel is to be quiet so that I can sleep..
And my room was all but quiet.

First, you can hear what is going on in the corridor: the door of the room is not sound proof.

Second, the sliding window frames are in aluminium as usually installed back in the 70's.

You have the impression that there is no window when you hear some outside noise.

When the garbage trucks are in the street along the hotel, you feel like if the window was open and you were standing close to the trucks.

I could not get a wink of sleep.

When I registered (8th of nov 2011), the receptionist asked me whether it was my first time in the hotel.
I said yes.
I guess he gave me a noisy room because I was not a regular customer.
But he can be sure, I will never become one.
An hotel to avoid.

This hotel is a basic Holiday Inn. It is out of the city on the other side of the airport but they have very cheap shuttle in and out of the city. This allows you to hire a car and get around because they also have parking onsite. Brilliant family hotel with the garden and pool area as the kids can run free and burn off some energy.
Because it is out of town you are not paying the expensive prices for a hotel.
It is in a business area but the gardens around the pool with fences you don't really notice make up for it.
The restaurant is basic and the menu items are simple. This is great for families as the meals are not over done or too way out for the kids to enjoy. The breakfast is a very good smorgesboard as per usual in Europe so it is a good start to the day. The staff are very courteous and caring in the restuarant trying hard to assist you in any way possible.
A good conference hotels for business as they seem to have the conference rooms, break out rooms and special little places near the poolside for morning tea and lunchs.
Generally the rooms are of a good size and are clean. Some aspects may seem a little dated but all seem to be in working order as well as clean.
The gym is tiny but it doesn't seem too many people use it so it is adequate. The sauna is also small but work very well, is well lit and is clean.
You actually lay out of the hotel is large spaces that are kept neat and tidy.
The little gift shop is very well stock with a lot of items at a range of prices. It also does the little snacks, newspapers and bathroom items you may have forgotten.
The staff are friendly and are very lay back in their manner so it calms the mood of the whole hotel.
Overall, a brilliant hotel if you do not want to stay in the heart of the city or want to pay the very expensive prices.
Week stayed for a week travelling in and out of the city.

Room Tip: Try and ask for a lift over looking the pool area. This would be much nicer than the front rooms overlooking the car park.

Stayed here before and after cruise. The room was spacious, but lacked coffee/hot water maker in the room. The rooms are not air conditioned and you need to open the window in order to get cool air. The way to book is through Holiday Inn direct because their prices beat Expedia/Travelocity and you can get the Breakfast included. The breakfast is great with a tremendous selection. The hotel's shuttle service is free for pickup at the Fiumicino airport only on a set schedule. Their shuttle will also take you to a drop off point downtown and pick you up at the same spot for 2.5 Euro each way on a set schedule. Where the shuttle drops you off downtown is very close to the Coloseum, Pantheon, the Forum, Circus Maximus and Trevi Fountain. The shuttle will also take you back to the airport for 2.5 Euro, again on a set schedule. There is a Regional Train Station (Muratella) about 5 min walk from the hotel. The train ticket is a fantastic bargain (1 Euro/good for 70 min). You can buy the train ticket at the front desk. The ticket is good for both the Regional train and the Metro (subway). The hotel is located in the Eur area close to the airport and is used a great deal for conferences/seminars. If you have to take a taxi from the airport to the hotel it's only 40 Euro (take the metered taxis).
