For a hotel in a city like Rome I was very happy with our choice of staying at Nerva. Obviously space is limited and expensive so you will never get the same value in a big European City than elsewhere. I think we paid a very reasonable price for their second most spacious room (less than 200€ per night, incl. breakfast), which was a good size for a couple of nights.

Even though I quite liked the design of the room overall, I wasn’t too fond of the bathroom colour scheme and the fact that our windows looked straight onto somebody else’s courtyard. We never saw anyone there so it was no issue at all, it just felt a bit odd to constantly having to close the curtains because it didn’t feel very private otherwise. But that’s just personal preference… and definitely not something that would prevent me from staying here again. After all we didn’t hear any noise from the outside and that’s a big plus for a hotel in Rome.

The addition of complimentary water in the room, as well as some nice books to browse was good. There’s a reasonably priced mini bar and smart TV. I would have liked to see better quality bathroom amenities for a boutique hotel, but again, this is a minor criticism.

Breakfast was fantastic: pastries, hams and cheeses, eggs, mozzarella and cherry tomatoes, fresh fruit and yoghurt, pastries, fresh juice and very good coffee. Everything you could wish for and more! I highly recommend booking this with your stay, it’s definitely worth paying the extra small amount of money.

Service was very good and professional throughout. The lady at breakfast was so bubbly and lovely!

Finally, for us the biggest plus was the location. We’ve been to Rome previously and wanted to avoid a hotel that’s smack bang in the middle of the tourist masses. Even though Nerva is centrally located for sightseeing (5 min. walk to the Colosseum, 10 min. to Fontana di Trevi), it is in the bohemian and picturesque Monti neighbourhood which isn’t as crazily busy as other parts of Rome. There are plenty of good restaurants and bars within a short walking distance and the recommendations of the hotel proved to be very good.

I would recommend this hotel and stay here again.

Room tip: Superior rooms are spacious. Ours was in the building next door.

The Nerva hotel is the perfect base from which to explore Rome's sights and food. Based behind the Roman Forum and a stones throw from The Kings Monument you are in the heart of where ancient Rome once stood.

We were taken on arrival to the separate annex where there are three rooms. At first I wasn't sure and would have preferred to of been in the main building but the rooms are vast, extremely quiet as it is down the side street and we couldn't have been happier.

The breakfast as everyone harps on about really is amazing. So much choice and selection I've not experienced anything like it apart from an all inclusive. They even kindly catered to a Gluten free experience every day, without fuss.

The perfect hotel.

Room tip: Ask for a hotel transfer, it will make getting in to Rome a breeze.

We always love to stay in boutique hotels & the Nerva did not disappoint. Everything about our stay was perfect. The room & view were lovely. The staff, from the front desk clerk to the housekeepers were so friendly & helpful. Breakfast was delicious & simple. You know when people say "Location, Location, Location" there is something to that! The perfect location, you feel like you're off the beaten path until you walk about 50 feet & you're in the heart of Rome. This will be our go to hotel in Rome, without hesitation.
Thank you for the wonderful stay, you helped complete our dream trip.

Stayed here for a long weekend with husband and grown up daughter and boyfriend. The location is perfect and walking to all the sites was not a problem with the forum right outside the front door. The staff were fabulous and could not do enough for you. Breakfast was a feast in itself with delightful staff. We also used the hotel transfer service which was seamless and would also recommend. As much as I'd like to keep this hotel a secret.......book away! You will not be disappointed. Thank you Hotel Nerva - we will see you again.
