Owner description: Two historical buildings with the walls of Villa Torlonia have been transformed into museum sites: the Casino Nobile, built in the 19th century, now houses the museum that documents the Villa itself as well as a collection of works by the Roman School, and the Museum of the Casina delle Civette, dedicated to artistic stained glass.

We were visiting Rome for 7 days and we're looking for something a bit slower pace and off the beaten path on our last day. This park site along with the museums was well worth the trip. Interesting history, beautiful restored interiors.

As mentioned by other reviewers, the villa and it's grounds provide an island of calm away from the maddening crowds of other Roman moments and museums. If you're in Rome for more than a couple of days, I'd highly recommend a visit. It's very beautiful and very peaceful. The villa is particularly impressive inside and out.

To give a little advice, do ask at the ticket booth about the different options available. The grounds are free for you to wander in but there are different tickets for the different buildings. I opted for the "Musei di Villa Torlonia - Casino Nobile" ticket, which allowed me to visit the main villa and also a side building filled with works of art by Ceccotti.

Great little oasis amid the chaos of Rome. As a contrast to the Vatican the day before. 3 little museums that gave you a chance to wander and appreciate the sculptures and paintings. Beautiful ballroom. Great grounds to sit or wander. Amazing. History connected to Mussolini. Amazing Italian restaurant at the back of the grounds. Wonderful mosaics. Admission fee for the museums well worth it. Shock horror for Italy, multiple clean restrooms. So glad we went spent 4 hours there.

The park contains the Villa Torlonia which was rented to Benito Mussolini from 1925 - 1943. It is a little way out of town but well worth visiting. There are two museums in the grounds and a great park for strolling or playing with the children. The park is free but, of course, there is an admission fee for the museums. The restored building has some wonderful period sculptures and furnishings. There is also The House of Owls which was designed like a Swiss Cottage and was the residence of Prince Torlonia. Its name comes from the use of owls as an inspiration for decorations. I visited here on my own while my husband was working. He missed out big time.
