Despite its name (b&b The Heart of Rome) this place is nowhere near the heart of the city. It is at the very end of Trastevere, far from the nightlife and the bohemien atmosphere of this area of the eternal city (3 tram stops away, to be honest).
It is on the second floor of an anonymous building dating back to the fascist era which is not so easy to find: via Parini is a uphill street departing from viale di Trastevere (there is a restaurant/pizzeria with a green sign at the beginning of the street facing the viale which we used as a landmark). Being on a side street does have a plus: it ensures a sleep free of traffic noises. The neighborhood seemed quite safe to us, no beggars around. There are shops, a pharmacy, several bars and pizza shops within a few steps from the b&b and  Porta Portese market is also nearby (Sundays only).
Both the train station and tram/bus stops are close by (15 minutes to reach largo Argentina with tram 8, 2o mins to the Colosseo with bus 3 and 35 minutes to Termini station with bus 170).
Room furniture has been recently renovated (all Ikea). Doors however are still old and squeaking and so are the heavy wooden roller shutters. The rooms are huge and minimal. However to name them "suites" , as the website says, is misleading as furniture and services offered are quite basic. There is a flat screen TV and air-conditioning, but these are the only amenties you can have. The housekeeper (apparently the wife of the owner, but we never managed to see her) has an easy job at this b&b: the bed was not made up at all during the 3 nights we stayed there, dustbin was not emptied, floor was not vacuum cleaned. Also the cleanliness of the  2 bathrooms is unacceptable: floors needed a good mop not to speak about the shower covered with  limescale and dust. If you don't want to mop the floor, do not cover it with white tiles! The b&b provides each guest with a bathrobe and one towel only. There is not a single hanger in the room, so you don't know where to place them to dry.  Besides bathrooms have a weird shape and are not very efficient (to access the smallest one you have to climb a step).
The b&b has a kitchen, so you can help yourself at any time of the day to tea or coffee. Breakfast is good for Italian standards but there are no fresh items. Pastries and bread are packaged, milk is UHT.
Cleanliness was definitely an issue for us, so I'd never return to this place.

The B&B Il cuore di Roma is a very pleasant place to stay when in Rome. It is conviniently situated near the Trastevere station with fast public transportation to the very centre of Rome. The nice young host-couple are helpful and friendly, gives good tips on things to do and see, like present exibitions, restaurants etc. and are easy to reach if needed. The rooms -four doubble rooms- are cosy and comfortable and clean. The the whole place highly recommendable and price-worthy. I have stayed there several times with family and friends and will go back this spring if things goes as planned with grandchildren to show them Rome. it is also nice that there are a large market nearby sundays and nice small shops on walking distance.

I usually go to Rome for business meetings. And usually I stayed in *** star hotels. For those who are familiar with the standards in Rome you all know that *** star Rome will not assure you the quality and sometimes you will be surprised how they can dare to offer such low quality accommodation for ridiculous high price. It is Rome it is overcrowded with tourists and some hotels dare to have low standards and high price. I can say that some hotels in Rome can be ashamed and all the stars should be taken away.
This is one of the reason I decided to take a different approach and I said that I would like to try B&B accommodation instead as I had a sense that this is much better in quality than hotels. Also much less expensive and more comfortable. I picked this place as it is close to Trastevere train station and also not so far away from the place I had a meeting. You have a train from Rome Airport to Trastevere every half an hour and the ticket to Trastevere costs 8 EUR one way. Train takes about 30 minutes to arrive to trastevere and then you have additional 5 minutes of walking and you are here. I stayed in this B&B for three nights. There are 4 rooms at this place and all are nicely equipped, well maintained. Place is very clean and it has that cool home touch you don’t experience in hotels. It has also a fully equipped kitchen so you can also make a lunch or dinner if you like. I did a dinner once. Only complaint I have is that breakfast is basic and you will need to prepare it for yourself. There is as much coffee you like, good selection of teas, milk. You have a selection of jam, nutella and some crossaitns and that's it. For three days eating same thing is a bit boring so you will need to grab something from the market. You get also free wireless that is working excellent. Place is located in the multi apartment building so you will have a feeling you have your own apartment in Rome. When arriving call the owner so that he will meet. He will then show you the place and all the equipment you have on disposal, he will also give you the keys to the room, front door and main doors of the building. He will also recommend you a place where you can get great food so ask as he is a friendly and very communicative chap. For the price I paid I got the accommodation I like and more so see you next time when in Rome.

We stayed in this b&b for a weekend in March and we strongly recommend it.
Its main characteristic is the homely and comfortable atmosphere. The room was tremendously well adorned and wide.
About the location maybe there is nothing to say cause i think Trastevere is enough known all over the world. Just to summarize I can use one word: astonishing. It's full of wine bars and shops and restaurants. The b&b is in a very convenient location in Trastevere with the tram just 1 minute by foot and the train station just 2 minutes by foot. You can reach easely all the most important places like Piazza Navona, Pantheon, San Pietro...
Finally, I strongly suggest you a weekend in Rome staying in this cute b&b!

This b&b was raccomended to me by a friend of mine, who stays here last summer. We arrived in late night with no extra rate for late check-in, the owner and his wife were so kind, their advice about place to eat, and public transportation were so helpful. We loved so much the freedom, the owner granted us, there's no time limitation for breakfast, and no time limits in the night.
I raccomend this B&B because it's lovely and also very cheap.
