“A pleasant stay”
Reviewed 7 June 2012

Having spent four nights in this hotel with my husband and my toddler I must say it was a pleasant stay indeed. The location of the hotel is very convenient as many attractions are within walking distance. The building its self is pretty and well renovated from what used to be the old Grand hotel and generally there is the standard of quality one expect from a Jumeirah hotel.
For me only two things are wrong in this hotel, so to speak. The rooms have a carpet stuck on the floor which of course collects microbes and dirt that can not be removed, so basically your rom is full of dirt from previous guests and also the headboard is made of matterial which keeps grease and dirt from previous guests. Being a cleanliness freak like my self these are the first things I notice when sleeping outside my own bed.
Housekeeping staff was very polite and helpfull with everything we asked for.
All in all a pleasant stay though and would probably go back.

We ended a 3 week holiday at Grand Hotel Via Veneto and were very pleased. The hotel is lovely, the location is great and our room was beautiful; although the changing room had quite dim lighting and counter space in bathroom was a bit lacking. Despite this, we loved the room. The hotel staff was very friendly and welcoming. A small complaint is the reception staff could do a better job communicating to each other-or handing off information at shift change. We spoke to 3 people to confirm our airport transfer, despite having set this up well in advance (everything was set up as originally booked, we just couldn't understand the confusion) Similarly, we received confirmation of a restaurant reservation and then were later told the restaurant could not be reached, so again a bit confusing. At the end, our reservation was made and all was good. Minor things, but spent a little more time than necessary clarifying. The breakfast was good and the restaurant was quite nice (we ate lunch there). The staff there was good, but insisted on placing my purse away from me, which I didn't understand. I think it's to create an atmosphere of "you don't need to worry here", but since we hadn't put our cash, passports in safe yet and it was all in my purse, I was more comfortable with it nearby - and that seemed to be an issue, which I thought was very odd. The lobby bar is lovely and the bar staff was wonderful. The doormen were very helpful with directions and suggestions. We would definitely stay here again.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments on TripAdvisor, following your recent stay at Jumeirah Grand Hotel Via Veneto. We very much appreciate your feedback regarding our services.

I sincerely regret the fact that you had to spend your valuable time having to clarify information with my colleagues at the reception. Please rest assured that this has been addressed with the colleagues concerned in order to avoid any inconvenience in future.

With regards to our colleagues insisting to put your purse on a chair during the breakfast, this is a practice we have adopted in order to ensure that handbags do not have to be placed on the floor. We have specific little chairs for this purpose which are placed next to the table in close proximity to the guests.
Please accept my apologies for the fact that you were made to feel uncomfortable by our colleague insisting to take your handbag from you.

I hope we will have the opportunity to welcome you back to Jumeirah Grand Hotel Via Veneto in the near future.

Thank you once again for your feedback and for your patronage.

Sincerely,

Just stayed 2 nights in May 2012 at the beautiful Grand Hotel Via Veneto, we we 10 adults with 5 rooms booked. The service level you receive is excellent from the check-in to departure. The hotel check-in allowed us to check-in early around 10am which was great since we all traveled all night from the USA to get to Rome. Rooms were modern, very clean, upscale bathrooms, robes and slippers, and turn down service every night. We had the breakfast buffet included in our cost of the room which again was first class, exceptional quality and choices to please everyone. Yea there are cheaper places to stay in Rome, but if you are looking for an upscale full service hotel in a great neighborhood, stay here. The service is that of a 5-star hotel. I would without any doubts stay here again when I return to Rome, You get what you pay for....

Room Tip: All rooms were great-Hotel elevators were very small.

Stayed at this hotel the night of tuesday 08/05. As you would expect the hotel is amazing. From the moment you arrive you are looked after. Once in you are surrounded by luxury. Staff very polite and very professional but still smiling rather than just look like machines. The only problem we had is that it must have been a fault with their system and when we got to the rooms (all three colleagues) we had a problem as the card wouldn't open the door. We went again to reception to get the card/key changed which after apologizing they did it. It did not work again...The bell boy came to help and went to change the card/key and took a little bit of time to do all this which after a very long working day it was not the ideal. However once you are in the room all this gets forgotten as the room was beautiful. The bathroom was top top with Bulgari toiletries to match. If you can afford go there... I for sure will try to go again.

We stayed here for one night in April, but wish we could have stayed even longer!
Service-EVERYONE we encountered was professional, courteous and discreet. As soon as we arrived the doorman took our bags, and another colleague showed us to reception area where we checked in. The man who checked us in then accompanied us to our room, explaining it's features. Within minutes our bags arrived. We had also booked treatments at the spa and the staff there was just as wonderful as the others.Check out was just as pleasant as check-in (although a bit sad since we wish we could have been staying longer!),and the staff at breakfast and in the bar area were also efficient and welcoming.
Cleanliness-From the room to the bathroom to the spa area, everything was spotless.
Room-The room was quite spacious and nicely decorated. The bathroom was clean, stocked with the Bulgari products, a hairdryer and a very nice makeup mirror. There was a large tub and separate large shower. It felt very luxurious as it was appointed with marble and mirrors. There was also a large closet area which had a safe, robes, and slippers.
The bed...what can I say? I wish I was still in it! It was fluffy and supportive at the same time!
We were pleasantly surprised, after having gone out for dinner,to find that they had turned down the bed, replaced the linens we had used, and placed the slippers on soft white, bedside carpets on each side of the bed. I will say, though, that while this was a nice surprise, perhaps they should inform you they will be doing this, in case you prefer to opt out for any reason.
Spa-We had booked a couples massage but also wanted to take advantage of the rest of the spa. I had read that for guests, three hours in the spa costed 40 euro, so we went down about an hour and a half before our massage. We were both shown into the locker rooms, given a locker, sandals, a huge towel and robe. We were then free to us the hammam, sauna, hidromassage pool and lounge at our leisure. What an experience! Each part of the spa was special and relaxing in its own way. My favorites were the hammam and the pool-both done in white marble and with softly colored lighting. The pool had a part that was sort of like chase lounges carved into the marble with jets that you could turn on or off, and which gently lifted you up in the water.
The massage following was a wonderful end to our time in the spa. The masseuses were discreet and friendly, and of course talented! A fun plus to this massage is that they allow you to choose the color of the light in the room!
The only criticism I can give of the spa is that we noticed another guest had a glass of juice and a pair of headsets to use with the audio system next to the lounged chairs, but we didn't know where had got them! They did have water and tea available, but maybe it would be a good idea to let guests know of the other options available.
All told, we had very, very positive experience here and were really sad when it came time time to leave! The hotel is pricey but I believe that the value is absolutely there. You feel taken care of every step of the way in a clean, beautifully decorated and quiet oasis.
