Casale dei Cedri Resort is indeed a little quite spot in a busy, busy city. We had a great stay (three nights); our room was spacious, well air conditioned, and in very good condition. There are not many rooms in the hotel so it felt very private and cozy. We were traveling with a 1 year old and the hotel accomdated us very well by providing a cot, and offering to keep baby food supplies in the kitchen for us. The breakfasts were lovely (we had ours out in the garden), and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The hotel is not in downtown Rome which makes it a nice get-away, and it is only a short bus-ride into the heart of the city. If you are driving, the hotel is relatively easy to get to but call ahead as the entrance itself is not easy to find. The hotel owner came to meet us on the street and direct us in, which was a GREAT help.
Just FYI, not related to the hotel itself: We did have some difficulties with the baby stroller on the buses, but it was not impossible to negotiate (would be no problem at all without the stroller).
