Description: Tin House is a restaurant in the historical center of Rome, in a lovely area called Monti just near to the subway station Cavour. It's different from other Chinese restaurants because here you can taste the real Sichuanese food which is becoming so famous in all the world for the pepper used by starred Chefs. You can also find other Asian socialities as the hot pot and Japanese meals.

After five days exploring Rome, and a week in Budapest before, my wife and I needed some comfort food, and wanted to pig out on Sushi! This place hit the spot, with all you can eat, our go to back home! I would say it was above average for an all you can eat place, with great service, quick delivery, and an excellent overall experience!

Tin House is a hidden gem. When you get in, you will be given the standard menu with Japanese all-you-can-eat food. But don't be fooled and ask for the "secret" Chinese menu, which is only in Chinese and offers a multitude of strange dishes, all from the Szechuan region. Food is quite spicy and mouth numbing, and the quality is very, very high coming in many different options. In sum, go there and eat proper Chinese food, do not waste your time getting yet another sushi, in a place where you can really experience the authentic cuisine from Szechuan. This is the best place to eat Chinese in Rome.

We went here after a long day of work. Although we did the booking, but it seems pretty spacious to accommodate more people. One of us who is the regular customer, even asked to change to a private room.

While waiting for other friends, we ordered 口水鸡 kou shui ji, as cold plate appetiser. It's a chicken dish in spicy oil, with a layer of chopped garlic.

We also ordered the famous meat sticks 肉串 rou chuan (which are pre-cooked but were further sautéed in a rich spicy oil sauce). There are very delicious and if you can't take the spicy, just eat them without the sauce.

The next dish is 水煮鱼 shui zhu yu, a dish of fish boiled in hot spicy oil. I am a fish eater and I absolutely love the freshness of the fish.

We ordered several other dishes and we paid around 20 euro a person. The kind owner of the restaurant even gave us a free dish of fresh fruit at the end.

The taste was not what we expected. Also the staff, Harun was so rude, not able to communicate with you clearly and its not about his level of English. Quality of the food so low. not worth it to go either your money. not recommend this place.

Visited this establishment for lunch. Shown to table and given piece of paper to write numbers of dishes shown in extensive menu. Fines for food not eater, ranging from 5 to 20 euros mentioned, so ordered starters to see what size portions were. After a while oddments of starters appeared to be followed at random periods of time by others. Only having 3 hours to spare, a new piece of paper was requested to order some mains. Starters continued. Then a couple of noodles and one main. then 2 mains. then a wait. After an hour the soup ordered by one of party still had not arrived. One serving of rice arrived. 45 minutes after noodles, no duck, ordered at same time had appeared. Food that did arrive was ok. Over an hour and a half had elapsed. Sent for manager who told us we should have ordered sushi as that was made We foolishly thought we could order what we wanted - our mistake. Time was running out and so was our patience. We realised that we were hungry and had not had anything like the eat all you can menu value. We asked for items to be totted up, paid and left. It would not have been unreasonable to walk out without paying so poor was the experience but we don't do that sort of thing. Would suggest only going here if you have 4 hours to spare, don't mind eating in dribs and drabs and if there are more than 2 people, don't mind eating separately - if you are lucky. Interestingly, the people in a side room near the kitchen and a more private area at the rear seemed to be tucking into food normally.
