My picky eaters (13, 11, 7) loves this place so much that we went twice! Go a little early - like 7pm or before - to avoid a long line. Prices are very reasonable and it’s just around the corner from the Trevi fountain. On our first visit we got sandwiches, cheese tray, and meat tray. On the second visit, we had the medium tasting platter - it was huge and so delicious! My youngest squealed “I love it here!”

Just a few streets from La Fontana di Trevi, you will find Pane e Salame a very good sample of Rome's local food for a great price. Do not expect somthing real fancy, on the contrary, it is a local place to have a good bear with a rectangular plate made of wood, full of the local cheese and salame. Remember the price is per person when ordering this sample.

I visited Pane e Salame in an afternoon with an hungry stomach, but did not want to eat too much bread. They recommended me the Porchetta dish without bread. Simply Porchetta with artichoke and dried tomatoes... was incredibly delicious with red wine. Afterwards i could not stand anymore, and ordered also tomato-basil-mozarella Bruschetta. Omg, the bread was amazing. So the sandwiches are worth to try, I think. This is a kind od eat-and-leave restaurant. The staff is really friendly.

Queued for around 45 minutes but was well worth it. The quality and amount of food you get is perfect. Food and wine are very reasonably priced will certainly be returning.

Didn't get the chance to try here on our last visit to Rome a couple of years ago, but noticed it was still rated highly on Trip Advisor, and made it this time after visiting Trevi Fountain. I had the spicy salami and my daughter had salami and cheese. Though they were very nice, I don't really see what all the fuss is about. Would probably try somewhere different if we visit the Trevi Fountain again.
