This is where Pizza Margherita was created. The walls have the scent of the tradition. Only for that 5 stars are not enough. Then, the pizza itself it is not the best you can have in Naples. But it is surely in the top 5%. If you are visiting Naples this pizzeria deserves you pay a visit. The staff is professional and friendly. The costs are a little bit higher than some other famous Neapolitan pizzeria but of course compared to Naples’ market. Take into account you will never find anything better and cheaper in any other parts of the western world.

We were pretty excited to eat at this restaurant. It has some history to it that you'd think would coincide with good food. For starters, they never served us our drinks and then charged us for them. Although they were nice enough to remove that from the bill, the three employees upstairs spent more time socializing than actually working. When it was clear they weren't going to get us our drinks, I knew we were in for a long dinner. Then, we were delivered bread with no options for any olive oil or vinegar. We ordered really mediocre bruschetta. That's like impossible to mess up. Finally, we made the mistake of trying something on the menu that wasn't pizza. Neither my wife or I finished our meals and we were starving. We left and ordered from our hotel. It's pretty hard to mess up Italian food. The pizzas did look good and it was probably our mistake for not getting one.

No attempts were made to ask us if we wanted dessert or after realizing they never got us drinks if we still wanted them. I think the complete lack of service on a quiet night ruined our excitement for eating here.

I would say that Naples has few places that could be considered ‘tourist’ traps. Unfortunately, Brandi turned out one of them. The food was mediocre at best (and this in the city full of incredibly tasty food that costs peanuts), the service was so-so, and the ambience/atmosphere was just wrong. And it is overpriced too. There are many much better and cheaper alternatives in the city.

Not far from the Piazza del Plebiscito, we had no problem getting a table when we arrived not long after opening time. This place is apparently the birth place of the Pizza Margherita and was busy with tourists and locals alike. We shared a Campania Anti Pasti - consisting of local meats and cheeses. A very generous portion so 1 was great for 2 to share. Then we had pizza. The menu for the pizza is extensive and they tasted great.
