Went from Sorrento to Capri on this con of a ferry company. You have to pay their exhorbitant fares of 40euros return and the timetable is not as published. Basic and just like cattle herding. Unfortunately there is no other way to Capri unless you can swim well. Only 30 min trip but very confusing as to where you buy your ticket and who you end up going with. Organised chaos.

Used the overnight ferry to get to Capri. The staff is ride and treats tourists extremely bad. Our friends watched a table get 3 different groups served and out the door before they ever got their food. Then, they had the nerve to still charge the service fer! What service? They never brought bread or water either but tables with locals got it. Rooms have no Wi-Fi and the outlets are broken. My phone charged over night and still only went up 30%. Absolutely horrible.

Arrived in port to see lines & lines of confused people trying to make sense of the pricing for a simple boat trip from Sorrento to Capri. They need to put more signs up as you have to line up for ages to make your way to ask the ticket person a basic question. Never mind the many desks you have to decide from to ask! 38E each return!!

Information as to which boat goes where and at which pier you catch the ferry is confusing - even though you can buy tickets at the one spot in the port. Boats go to Capri Positano Amalfi Ischia and private hires also. Luckily there was a bloke on hand who was there trying to upsell a "Trip round Capri Island tour" who told us where to go.
Naturally you run upstairs to get the best outside views etc. Well first of all it was enclosed second smelly and thirdly uncomfortable and made you feel sick. We were dreading coming back - however we sat downstairs on the return and it was fine. Much more comfortable - recommend.
This bloke also said to get up to Capri town would take ages by foot and all uphill - we never considered that.Get a taxi or the Funicular.

STAY AWAY. We paid for a two hour tour around Capri and it was beyond horrible. The Captain let everyone stand up and there were people literally standing on is and he said NOTHING. Completely uncontrollable. Rude people and all the captain said was "Relax". Completely unprofessional. This is a ToURIST TRAP. Move on
