This place is the best! After 2 years living in Naples in Vomero, this remains my favorite restaurant. It is extraordinary value, authentic Naples food, and a friendly atmosphere. The deal is just 13 Euro or so for a set course including first course, second course, and a choice of either the 'contorni' (side-dish) buffet or desert. You will leave full, and if you get the great lasagne for your first course you will have to get your second course to go or explode. The menu is not written down (verbal only) and when the friendly owner Enzo takes your order he will quickly: 1) sing-song the 10-15 pasta type dishes for your first course and wait for your choice (even Italians seem overwhelmed the first time they visit and it is fun to see him list the courses to new customers... the seafood pasta "frutti di mare" is always a solid choice as is the bolognese), 2) sing the second courses of meat and fish (meatballs, sea bream (orata), calamari (fried or grilled), swordfish, tuna, chicken, veal, bistecca), 3) do you want desert or vegetables? - get the 'contorni'... the vegetable buffet has the best vegetable dishes in the world all made in house, some simple and some elaborate... you choose what you like and you get to choose 3-4 which they put on a plate for you. You can go get your contorni (side-dishes at buffet) anytime you want (as an appetizer, chooosing caprese type things and such or with your meat dish choosing bitter spinach or stuffed peppers and such). If it matters to you, be aware that some of the tomato/bean type contorni can have tripe/parts type stuff in them. This is an authentic Naples kitchen: no pizza, no cream sauces on the pasta like in the north, but great place to try Neopolitan dishes like pasta potate e provala (pasta mac and cheese) or genovese (only if you love onions) . If worst comes to worst and the verbal menu is too confusing, you can't go wrong with whatever everyone else seems to be choosing (seasonal) or with what Enzo recommends (seasonal or normally the frutti di mare which contains whatever is fresh... normally various size clams, mussels, and razorclams). I often see fresh seafood food arriving from the market each day, so whatever they are cooking is fresh! Closed for dinner on Sunday and Monday. Restaurant has a lot of regulars, so be sure to make a reservation if you want to eat during prime hours or holidays (1930pm is normally ok without reservation since Americans eat earlier than Italians). Wine is good and cheap, as are after dinner drinks (amaro, limoncello, etc). Try the wine with 'percoca' (peaches) in it if they are in season... they are great! Bottom line: Best value authentic small restaurant in Naples... stop by and try it! Note: There is only one order, great deal and simple... the set menu... I tried to leave when I was full and Enzo made me take a desert to go... you will always get great food, friendliness, and great value here.

A very small restaurant run by Enzo who manages to get your order straight with little or no knowledge of foreign languages languges. No menu to speak of but a choice of over 15 different anti pasti all original and incredibly tasty. Several different pastas are available each night - simple and imaginative. Then there is the main dish - fish or meat all very tasty, fresh and prepared to order. House wine and desserts / fruit. The restaurant fills up with local regulars very early even mid week so be there between 7:30 and 8 pm. The price is so reasonable that it will make you wonder why others are charging the double...
Grazie mille per queste cene indimenticabile !

This is a very lively restaurant. Service is very good and the food is delicious. One can choose from many starters. All typical Italian. Then choose a main course and a desert. All good and healthy.
The limoncello at the end is a must!

My husband and I had a fantastic lunch here. Get there soon after opening to snag a great outdoor table --- there was a long line when we left to get in.

The food was wonderful --- we had primi, secondo, and contorni --- all traditional Neapolitan dishes that were very fresh and tasty. The value is incredible! We will definitely return.
