My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Luna during our honeymoon. I had been to Capri once before, and the last time I went I stayed at a very famous Capri hotel which I'll leave nameless, but which those of you familiar with Capri will undoubtedly know. It was wildly expensive; the rooms were poorly kept, and the service was unremarkable. That being my only other Capri experience, I went into the Hotel Luna expecting something similar. Thankfully, what I got couldn't have been more different. To begin with the Hotel Luna is beautiful. I mean, captivating, stunning, breathtaking, pretty much any hyperbolic adjective you can think of works. The grounds are expansive and immaculately maintained. The same can be said for the hotel itself. The staff greeted my wife and me with a smile and a hearty congratulations. They took us up to our room, a second floor suite with a terrace overlooking the sea. My wife fell in love with the room the moment she saw it, and so did I. The view wasn't just remarkable, it was a divine panorama of the island and the ocean beyond, with dazzling views of Capri's famed Faraglioni Rocks. Waiting on the terrace was a chilled bottle of Prosecco and two glasses, compliments of the manager. We sat on the terrace, popped the cork and enjoyed the bottle while we watched daylight wane over the Capri sea. It was perfect. As for the room itself, it was large and pristine with lavish tile flooring and an ample bathroom. The bed was very comfortable, and we each slept perfectly our whole stay. The wonderful thing about the Hotel Luna is that though it's only about a minute's walk from Capri's main square, it feels secluded and romantic. You get an uncommon sense of serenity walking onto its grounds. And though, like every hotel in Capri, it isn't cheap, its cost is relatively low when juxtaposed against comparable, even inferior nearby hotels. The staff was fantastic; they couldn't have been more accommodating, and it was clear they really cared about our experience. They knew us by name, and by the end of our trip, we were sorry to say goodbye to them. All of this is to say that the Hotel Luna was the highlight of our honeymoon, and we can't wait to go back. I can't recommend it highly enough!
