We went to this restaurant by incident and could say that it was one of the best incident! The owner take care of all the guests by himself all recommendations about food and wine were really useful. The seafood here especially lobsters and beef are very fresh. Tiramisu looks so ugly honestly but the taste was so delicious!

We found Ristotante al Grottino on Trip Advisor. Thought it was best to look up a restaurant first to avoid ending up in just a crappy tourist place. Side street location meant it was quiet but seemed to have locals eating there which is usually a good sign. The waiter was very friendly & helpful. We picked our own table & the menus were in 4 languages. Ordered gnocchi & sautéd muscles with clams as a starter with bread. A couple of the muscles hadn't been bearded too well so got the dreaded crunch but other than that we couldn't fault it.
Main was pork with mozerella for my husband & pasta with courgette flower & prawns for me. Homemade pasta! Lovely! Lots of great cheese, nice creamy sauce, very well done. The only thing that disappointed me was that I wished there was more. Don't get me wrong, I was very full, i just wished I could keep eating!
Lots of nice little touches all automatic from the waiter, side plate for shells, finger bowl with petals in it, olive oil brought to the table for the side salad & cutlery to suit what we ordered.
Overall bill for bread, two starters, two mains, a salad & a bottle of water came to €82,00 which is pretty costly but actually very reasonable for this area! The fact that the food was so good really helped soften the blow of the cost but I'm sure it would be even better if you got more for your money!

We had no idea what to expect when we stayed over on Capri, but decided to try to find a restaurant used by the locals, not just tourists, and we are so glad that we came across Al Grottino.
Family run and very busy, but a table was made available for us and a very extensive menu, plus specials, was presented causing much deliberation but eventually we settled upon Saltimbocca and Spaghetti Vongole for mains. Everything was freshly prepared and beautifully cooked. The wine was local and good and the prices (for Capri) were very reasonable. Can't fault a thing.

Cozy little restaurant. Got to sit right by the door. I was there a little early, but got great service. Had the Caprese Salad, Pasta Vongole, Veal Piccata and Eggplant and Potato Croquettes. All good. Didn't love the house wine. Ambiance and decor were very nice.
