“Better than expected”

Many times pictures make things seem nicer than they are but not the case here. Valeria was wonderful and the apartment was too. I am a very picky American mom of four. ;) The village was good too. We liked to eat at Mimi's. I am in Rome now and unfortunately this place is not as nice as Valeria's. I feel like I went from an IKEA showroom to a thrift store. Lol I was also happy with the easy parking for our big rental van and a beautiful garden my boys could play in.

“Lovely Apartment, great village atmosphere.”
Reviewed 15 April 2014 for a stay in April 2014

The apartment, close to the centre of S. Agata, was spotlessly clean, comfortable and roomy. Valeria could not have been more helpful, kind and welcoming - she was always on call to answer our queries and we really appreciated the little gifts of lemons, herbs and chocolate cake.

The village of S. Agata is conveniently close to Sorrento yet has a real 'local' feel to it; it has avoided the homogenisation which plagues so much of Europe;' there is no McDonalds no large supermarket - instead, there are two butchers, two fishmongers, several small grocers, and a greengrocers . Just like English villages used to have some decades ago!

In short, the three of us - husband, wife and teenage daughter - had a great time.

Tips: if going to Pompeii, Herculaneum or Vesuvius, take the train from Sorrento - it's only 4 euros 40 return and is so much less stressful than driving.

Car parking in Sorrento is expensive- 2 euros an hour - and it's probably worth taking a bus, but we never got around to finding a timetable so took the financial 'hit'. If driving, turn left at Grand Hotel Due Golfi and park in the car park on Via Deglia Arancia (the one way system takes you to it) and it's only a short walk to the town centre or train station.

“Loved our stay and Valeria was the perfect host.”
Reviewed 1 April 2014 for a stay in March 2014

We were greeted by Valeria as if we were family. She made us so welcome. The accommodation was exactly as we expected from the pictures and description. Very comfortable beds and the place is very clean and well presented and equipped. Sant' Agata has some great places to eat out. We were amazed at the low prices of fruit, vegetables and fish from the local suppliers. Very fresh and very affordable. You can access supplies and restaurants in minutes by foot from the accommodation. It was unfortunate that we had a lot of rain during our stay and it was quite cold but the apartment was cosy. It also provides good access to the Amalfi Coast and Sorrento. We would definitely recommend it provided you have a car and there is secure parking. Thanks very much Valeria!

Liked best: The apartment was very clean and well equipped and the host extremely helpful
Liked least: Access is via some very winding roads but then that also provides amazing views.

“Just Amazing!”
Reviewed 21 November 2013 for a stay in October 2013

Thank you so much for having us. We cannot speak highly enough of the apartment and of the holiday. We loved every minute of it. The apartment is gorgeous - spacious and well equipped and is in excellent condition. The location is superb - right in the middle of Sant Agata which is wonderful little place with a choice of several coffee shops and restaurants on the doorstep, all of which are much more reasonably priced (and better quality) than neighbouring Sorrento where everyone else seems to stay. We did have a hire car (which can be safely parked outside the front door of the apartment) and which made it very easy to get around. Pomepeii / Herculaneum and the Amalfi coast are all easily accessible from here and the driving/roads/parking in the vicinity were absolutely fine despite all the scare stories we had heard in the UK. The owner, Valeria, was so welcoming and friendly but also respected our privacy - a perfect host ! We cannot speak highly enough of the apartment or of Sant Agata and we would definitely wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone and everyone - what a little gem ! We are already missing the pizza/pasta in Mimi's and the lovely latte coffee's in Bar Orlando :) We will definitely be back... Thank you Valeria for a perfect holiday ! Nikki and Jaye
