“Next to lemon grove”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 August 2012

Small very clean hotel quite close to centre of town - a lovely 8 min walk through lemon grove to main square. Unfortunately our room was dark with no view- we had to pay 10 euros a night for aircon. The restaurant had no atmosphere and we had to share an allocated table with the same people every night. There were 3 sun loungers for the whole hotel.

First holiday without our children and first to Italy, although hotel guests were a spread of all ages, Hotel is in an excellent location close to the Main Square, Shops and Port. The hotel itself was very clean, bed very comfortable and staff very helpful. That's 3 good “very”, however Shower was very, very small, Breakfast usual continental meats, cheese and cake, evening meal was ok, edible but not up to much. We had a fourth floor room that had views of Sorrento and the sea, excellent to catch the late afternoon sun, however made the room hot, very hot at night, suggest you pay the 10 euro a night charge for air con. Sun terrace had 3 beds!! You can use a pool at a nearby hotel for 10 euro each, however you are guaranteed a sunbed and those staying at that hotel also pay 5 euro!! We found the hotel cheaper than others advertised by the tour operator, but you can easily run up a bill of 20/30 euro a day with drinks, air con etc. however it’s still good value.

Room Tip: Rooms on 4th and 5th floors at the front and to the right have best views and catch the afternoon su...

Our 1st visit to Italy and we were not disappointed. We stayed for 2 weeks.Staff at the hotel were excellent and the the hotel is kept spotless. Payed the extra for the airconditioning, we needed it as the temp rose to 40 deg!!! Had a 3rd floor room with balcony, would recomend 4th floor up as museum in front of hotel obsures the view a bit. Breakfast was what we expected, i've seen people complain about the choices??. Fresh fruit, cheeses, cold meats, yoghurts, cereals, cakes, bread for toast, jams, marmalade and hard boiled eggs, how much choice do they expect?? Some odd combinations at dinner, meat and tinned garden peas, no potatoes?? but otherwise okay. 10 Euros to use local hotel pool per person per day may seem steep but on bathing platform you will pay 36 Euros for 2 sunbeds and an umbrella per day!!! All in all a good value hotel for the money based on Sorrento prices.

Room Tip: Choose a room with balcony on 4th or 5th floor.

Stayed here last week, for Sorrento this hotel is very good value for money (I have stayed in Sorrento many times). It's a very clean hotel situated only a few minutes' walk from the centre of Sorrento. The room was very clean, had a room on the top floor with a big balcony with a lovely sea view, the bed was comfortable and the room was very quiet so I slept very well. The staff were very friendly and helpful. For a veggie, I was very happy with the food choice at breakfast. The coffee wasn't brilliant which I've found to be usually the case in most Italian hotels. The food choice for the evening meal for a veggie was very limited and unimaginative. 3 days in a row it was omelette, although for the 2nd half of the week there were some pasta dishes and also gnocchi which was very nice. There was a form to fill out at the end of the holiday where you can put suggestions for improvement down so I mentioned the limited food choice and hopefully this will get sorted.

Room Tip: Looking at the hotel the room was on the right side, top floor.

We stayed here in July 2012. The hotel was nice, very clean and tidy rooms. The location was great, just a few minutes walk away from everything.

The breakfast was rubbish, truly, truly rubbish. We ate the breakfast only 3 times out of the week we stayed there. It was just limp bits of flavourless pastry, jam and bruised/unripe fruit.

Other thing, although we knew very well that there wouldn't be a pool, and we had planned a pretty busy holiday so didn't think we would need a pool, when it came to it we really wish we had one. Lesson learnt for us. You can use a nice pool at a fairly nearby hotel for 10 euros (pay out La Meridiana reception) but actually there is quite a lot of money for just a couple of hours every day. Not a fault with the hotel at all (and hasn't changed my rating) but just worth noting.

Reception staff were really helpful, any questions we asked they would look online etc. to find out for us. They were also really friendly. Rooms were cleaned well everyday, towels were nice. Air con was lovely after a hot day.
