The views from the rooms were stunning and all rooms have a sea view. Before we arrived I presumed it would be the usual......if you stand on your tip toes and crane your neck you can just about see the sea on a clear day... but I was oh so pleasantly surprised. It is also ideally situated for the town centre.
The service was second to none. The reception staff were extremely helpful, nothing was too much trouble, even when faced with a pair of old fools who couldn't work the internet for the third time! The maids were like fairies. No sooner had you left your room they leapt into action and they turned down your bed in the evening, but we never saw them. It was like magic!
The restaurant staff were always polite, attentive and above all happy!
Pound for pound, it's the best hotel we've ever stayed in.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to my friends and family.

The two best things about this hotel are the rooms and the service. Our room was very large, especially by European standards and we had a wonderful balcony which overlooked the ocean. It is really such a short walk into the city, but I think the view made it so worth it. The staff, particualrly Monica (at the front desk) and Mario (part of the wait staff) were SO helpful and kind. We just loved our stay there. The only downside is that the rooms can be pretty noisy, however only when people are walking in the halls. We purchased an iPhone app with white noise which helped a lot.

This was our first trip to Italy and the first stop on our honeymoon. We were more than happy with our stay here. Big, clean rooms. Bathrooms were large. Nice balcony. Breakfast was great! A very short walk (5 minutes to downtown) or the bus stops right outside the hotel and takes you to train station with stops downtown along the way. And the views from our balcony were amazing. Great start to our trip and highly recommend this hotel Will add pictures soon.

We v carefully choose a Sorrento hotel for our 5 night stay. We wanted excellent views, a good room with matching service and in striking distance of the town on foot, plus parking as we had picked a car from Naples. It is situated centrally for Amalfi and Pompeii or Erculano.

Overall recommended - we were v pleased with a couple of exceptions: we feel that a 4 star hotel might have tea / coffee in the rooms in addition to the mini-bar, and that the restaurant should have fresh juice for breakfast - it tasted as though it was 'made up' and varied daily accordingly! Good breakfast choice, but didn't realise until later on that if you asked they would cook you eggs / bacon etc. Perhaps that's unreasonable?

What you can't fault is the hotel's location. The outlook over the bay is stunning. Pity the sun doesn't shine on the pool after midday due to the height of the hotel - probably a blessing in the heat of summer - we were here at Easter and though it looked lovely we didn't want to sit in the shade.

Room Tip: Tip - watch out for some hotels who may offer a balcony, but you are above the main road - we saw lots of those! We asked for a large balcony but didn't get one, however the small balcony was fine for two of us to sit at a small table with a bottle of wine :o)

Stayed 4 nights at Belair, an excellent base for exploring the Amalfi coast and Pompeii. The location just a short walk up hill from the buzz downtown was great. All rooms (I think) have a balcony and what more can you ask for to sit on the balcony in the evening with a glass of wine and just enjoy the magnificent view. Hotel interior looks a bit "snobby" but the staff is genuine interested in you and offers a warm hospitality. Breakfast was good, did not try the restaurant for dinner. We will certainly choose Belair again.
