This is an excellent hotel with first class staff. The restaurant is particulary good overseen by Luigi who is worth every penny he's paid, whatever that is.

The views are stunning and I doubt there are any better in Sorrento.

It is little way out of town and although there is a courtesy bus with a very good driver it really should run a little more frequently.

Stay here again? I'd be a fool not to.

We stayed here in September 2011. This is the best hotel and holiday we have ever had. From the moment we arrived until we left the staff were courteous, efficient and friendly. They made us feel welcome and relaxed. Our room was spacious and very clean. We had a balcony which gave us a stunning sea view, overlooked sorrento, the bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. When it was dark and all the street lights were on the sight was spectacular. The food was great too. We will be back and would reccommend this hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: Rooms with balcony and sea view would be best.

Returned on Friday 21 October from a calorific week at this really good quality hotel. The staff are first class as is the food. Waiter service is a real bonus. No rugby scrum at the buffet for dinner. Buffet breakfast however but very civilised.
Not for younger holidymakers, no disco etc. Average age was 55+. One drawback is the location about 10 minutes by courtesy bus from the town. It is walkable downhill but uphill on the return would be a killer! Don't miss the bus. We did on one occasion and paid 28 Euro for a taxi!
A good base for sightseeing, Vesuvious, Pompie, Herculanium, The Amalfi Coast etc. Some very good shops in the town centre. Very good local train service along the coast to the sights towards Naples. The local buses are quite frequent but the routes seem to vary on each run. Buy your tickets not on the bus but at local shops for some reason and by estimated time of journey and not destination. Buses & trains always seem to be overcrowded. Seats are at a premium.
More on the hotel. Avoid room 110. The view and the room were great but it's position next to reception meant that there was a lot of noise 24/7.

Room Tip: Sea view is a must but not below the dining room or 110.

The Hotel does impose itself on Sorrento - and is worthy of its name! Overlooking the Bay of Naples and the town of Sorrento, high up on the mountainside, the views are everything one would wish for when plaqnning a hooiday to Italy.
The check in was efficiently done, with the cases delivered to the room by the bell boy and staff. The rooms were spotlessly clean, with towels and linen refreshed each day.
The staff went out of their way to be helpful; the Thomson rep and staff were tremendous.
The Dinner in the hotel was waiter served, and very efficiently done - no waiting around at all. Breakfast was a superb full English one, eat as much as you could buffet type, with eggs fried while you wait. The food wasw full of variety and very tasty - something for all pallets.
Luigi, the major-domo, or maitre d'hotel, was excellent, he knew his job and treated all the guests as if he knew them personally.
The shuttle bus is an essential part of the hotel service due to the position of the hotel - on the side of the mountain. It was possible to walk down to Sorrento, but the oolder generation my find the steep paths a problem. The bus was a regular service to and from the town. The position of the hotel was a bonus, though, not a problem. The view from the room balcony of Mount Vesuvius was truly awesome.
Thomson's entertainment staff - four of them - were excellent - their evening shows were worthy of London's West end. Good voices and they really could dance.
It was a Thomson Gold Hotel, so no children - bit more expensive holiday but for the connoisseur well worth it!! Could not fault any aspect of it.

JG

Room Tip: Sea view with balcony. Watch the cruise ships come and go.

Recently returned from a holiday at this hotel, 7th - 14 October. I can thoroughly recommend this hotel. It was spotlessly clean, the garden area was immaculate. Our room which had wonderful views of the sea and Mnt Vesuvius, was spacious and immaculately clean. Service was first class in both the bar and the restaurant. The restaurant food was second to none, you were absolutely spoiled for choice. A courtesy bus into Sorrento was provided several times a day and the driver was pleasant and always on time. Staff were always on hand if needed and were more than happy to assist. Wished we could've stayed longer.
