We have just returned having stayed 9 nights .
Amazing staff ,great room ,very good breakfast ,great location , great value for money .
Can't understand why they call it a hostel as it is a a 4-5 star hotel .
We often stay in hotels, this has been the best in recent years mainly because of the unique combination of a nice well maintained hotel and a wounderfull team.
THANK YOU FOR THE VERY HAPPY DAYS WE EXPERIENCED.

The Ulisse Deluxe is not a 'hostel' it is a hotel that doesn't have a full restaurant service! We drove there from Rome and it is located at the far end of town just above the old port area of Sorrento. The location is quite hidden and initially you wonder where the Ulisse is then you see it is below the carpark on the Via Del Mare. The first impression walking through the doors was 'wow' - marble floors luxurious sofas and amazingly friendly staff waiting to recieve us at check in which was fast and simple - no holding money on your card in hostage of you running off without paying - didn't even ask to see a credit card just passports. The room we were given for the four of us was marvellous - large even with double and two single beds. There was a small tv but had sky! It got upgraded to a slighlty larger screen while we were there. The parking was a bonus - right above the hotel and we didn't book beforehand but they still took us (and it is not that expensive 10 euro a day) - you have to take the 'Italian Macho' approach to carpark management and then everything is OK - let the guys get on with their job and all will be fine. There was a fridge in the room - no cooking/heating facilities but no issue with eating in your room. The bathroom was expansive and had a bath and shower combo - the bath was a full jacuzzi style bath and the shower had a flashing light in the head - great fun my kids loved it. The place was always being cleaned and the bed linen and sheets were changed regularly and were of good quality. There's wifi in the lobby/shared communal area which is lovely, nice sofas, bar area, large screen tv with football on if you like that, piano if you fancy playing. The wifi could do with being more powerful as we sometimes had problems getting on-line (even better would be wifi or internet in room - but I think they are planning to have that soon) but when we did then the staff at the desk were more than helpful at letting us access the web to print things off even if needed. In fact what made our stay were the staff - Pasquale, Giuseppe, Chiara, and Joseph were friendly and helpful and very engaging. They gave us great advice about exploring the area and where to eat and what was going on in town over the Easter weeekend - they really cared that you had a good time and enjoyed your stay with them in their hotel and in Sorrento their town. On leaving they even made sure that the car was placed in the underground garage so that we could leave early in the morning with no problems - Joseph even made me an expresso before leaving to make sure that I was awake enough to drive to Naples airport!!

Thanks for making a great holiday a fantastic one - we hope to come back soon - The Brooks family

This was the first hostel we stayed in on our trip to Italy and what an excellent choice it was. Sorrento was such a lovely little town, and Ulisse made the experience twice as memorable. We travelled as two female friends and booked a double room which turned out to be HUGE (one double bed, one single bed and a sofa to boot!).

The welcome service was warm, friendly, and absolutely top notch, a great change from the haughty service we received from Sheraton Roma. The lady that greeted us also offered us a map of the town, with clear directions of where to go for food, how to get to Capri and they have timetables for train that runs to Naples and hydrofoils to go to Capri. Very very helpful especially if you travel like us, on the fly and go with the flow type of thing :)

The night we stayed here was also my birthday so I made a comment during online booking hoping for a surprise. We returned to our rooms after dinner that night and found a bottle of wine with two flutes waiting for us in a bucket of ice, complimentary of Ulisse. The sweet touch was the card that came with it. Very very sweet, and of course, extremely memorable.

Apart from that, I thought the bathroom was huge, adequate (came with all the necessary toiletries and towels), the shower heads turn a different color to reflect the temperature which I thought was funny, and the view from our room was quaint and gorgeous. The fact they had rollup window screen added to that charm. I will most definitely return here when I am back in Sorrento, both for the service, the warmth and the great price that is hard to beat.

We stayed here for 3 nights during our 2 week vacation. There is nothing "hostel" about this place except the location. We stayed in a triple room, and it was huge! Everything was clean, and the lobby is spectacular. Joseph at the front desk is incredibly nice, and welcoming. Our trip to Capri through the hostel was fantastic and a great value.
I must confess that our room location was awful. We left the window open at night as we couldn't get the air conditioner to work. We awoke to screams and shouting, honking horns, and creaky roll-up doors across the street every morning. We discovered that the screams were coming from the mental institute across the street. So, if you stay here, and you like to open the windows, just request a room away from the mental institute and you'll have a wonderful stay ;)

Overall Great price. This is the best location to stay if you want to experience Sorrento and Almafi coast.

My recommendations:
- Don't stay in Naples (Napoli) it is dirty, dangerous and cost more. Stay here and take the train into Naples for day trips.
- Rent a scooter for a day and drive it to Almafi ( best experience the entire trip) only cost me 55 euros for the highest end scooter

Con:
- internet only available in lobby ( and unreliable )
