The view the balcony of our double room was amazing! The room was of a decent size but the bathroom was just ok. On saying that however, it was all very clean. The breakfast buffet was good. We chose this hotel because of it's parking faciities and the staff were very helpful in parking our car for us in the area across the busy road.
The hotel is very quiet as it is out of the centre of the town, about a 15 minute walk. However the road down to town can seem dangerous as there is no footpath for the majority of the way. I loved this hotel and would definitely recommend it to anyone going to Amalfi.

View from room and terrace was spectacular. Comfortable room, hard bed (as are most beds in Europe). Excellent breakfast. About 15 minute walk into Amalfi central. Parking available (must pre-book). You are high up from the main road so noise is not too bad, and is acceptable at night. A very pleasant stay, capped off with an excellent dinner at nearby Eolo Restauarant (also thoroughly recommended).

Room Tip: Ensure you book a room with a sea view

Our double room had a good sized balcony with table and chairs. Views from here were divine! Room a reasonable size with an older style bathroom. Shower cubicle is very small and would not fit anyone more substantial in size. Doors of shower cumbersome to close. Room, bed and bathroom very clean. Breakfast buffet was delicious and the best we had during four weeks in Italy. It included beautiful fresh bread rolls and home made cakes and tarts. Superb views from breakfast room. Main down side to this accomodation is there was no shuttle service into town. The distance is not the problem as it was only a 12 minute walk however the road down to town is very dangerous with no pedestrian pathway for most of the way. It is a narrow road with large buses passing also. Do not walk with children or at night. Taxi from town to Il Nido was 15 euro without luggage and 20 euro with luggage. The public bus to Sorrento and Pogerola passes by the front of hotel which is only a 2 euro fare but they only seemed to run every hour and were full to the brim. Would I stay here again? Yes I think that beautiful breakfast would win out over the dangerous road!!

The room, bathroom and terrace were all spacious and the decor was simple and clean.
The view is amazing, there is just a road between the hotel and that blue sea! The continental breakfast was varied and the coffee was delicious. On our third morning we found out they also did omelettes or scrambled eggs, we hadn't been offered this as an option but heard another tables being offered the choice - so we asked and had omelettes too.
The hotel is a good 15 minute walk uphill from the town centre (we are quite fast walkers so could be 20 mins or more for some). We felt that four nights was about our limit of doing this twice a day.

We didn't have a drying rack on the terrace, which would have been handy, we dried our beach towels and swimming costumes across the chairs instead.

The fridge in our room wasn't working. We didn't complain about it as we didn't really need it but I was surprised that housekeeping didn't notice and report it so that it could be fixed.

The hotel is very close to the city and has private parking . There are still many stairs to climb but then at the Amalfi you climb stairs all day long .
The bed is hard as rocks so if you don't like a plushy bed then it's great. I like the fluff so I did not enjoy the rock solid bed.
The view and the huge balcony made up for it.
