This former convent is set directly into the stone face of the cliff next to the town of Amalfi, which means incredible, uninterrupted views of the sea and the town of Amalfi to the left! My room had its own balcony which had the most beautiful view of the city. The accommodations themselves (bedding, soaps, etc.) are not as luxurious as a 5 star hotel, but the SERVICE is definitely 5 star level. The concierges speak beautiful English, they are well-informed of the area and it's very much white-glove service: requests I'd placed with the morning concierge (for a taxi or more information) were faithfully handed off to the night concierge - they literally keep a portfolio on each guest, with notes on what I needed. They'd offer coffee or water at no charge - I love that they didn't nickel & dime.
The courtyard is adorable, but it's the views in the restaurant of the water & Amalfi that are AMAZING. I can't believe more people didn't eat there each night. I LOVED the morning view at breakfast, and one meal is complimentary with your room - and it can be breakfast OR dinner! I really wanted to eat there each night and had to force myself out to explore!
The town of Amalfi is a quick 3-4 min walk - just be careful crossing the street!More
