We travelled as a family, my daughter and partner and three children aged 10, 5 and 3, together with myself and my husband. We had 2 one bedroom apartments which we were pleasantly surprised with. We were led to believe that there was nothing in the kitchens, but both ours came with microwave, toaster, crockery etc. It was nice to have more space than the standard room, it had a large terrace and spiral staircase up to a roof terrace with sun beds on. It is slightly awkward having a sofa bed in the lounge for children - we used to wake our grandson up in the morning whilst making a cup of tea. I know some parents slept in the lounge, giving the children the bedroom, but the sofa bed didn't look the most comfortable place to sleep!
The swimming pools were the highlight of this hotel, my grandchildren absolutely loved all of them. They were ideal for little ones, not too deep and plenty of choice. Some people complained about inflatables only being allowed in children's pool, but we thought this was just right as the pools would have been too crowded with them in.
The food was very good, I'm a fussy eater but never went hungry.
The staff were amazing, special mention to 'Jacko' on the pool bar and the reception staff were also very helpful.
We used the hotel shuttle bus to the beach one day, this has to booked early 24hrs before. As we took up the whole bus, we booked ours at midnight to make sure we got the times we wanted.
One major rip off is the local taxi service. We booked 2 cabs to go into town one night as they don't have 7 seater cabs. They arrived with 8 euros already on the clock and 5 euros on our return. It cost 14 Euros going down and 11 for the return. We complained to the hotel, they know about it and said there is nothing they can do as there is only one taxi company in the town. It makes it an expensive trip. That is the main problem with this hotel, the location - we did know this though when we booked it, but didn't realise how expensive taxis were.
2 other minor gripes were the MAD dash for sun beds at 9.30 where people were being knocked over in the rush to grab a bed. Luckily my daughter joined the queue every morning, so I didn't have to witness this. The other is the lack of wi-fi. They do advertise free wi-fi, but none of us ever managed to get a signal.
We really enjoyed our stay, the animation team were amazing with the children. I would return again if travelling with my grandchildren but it is definable not a place to go as a couple, there are many children around until really late at night and the entertainment is mainly geared up for them.
