“MIxed feelings, some good points and some not so good!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 June 2012

Having stayed at levante Club last year with my husband and our friends, I recommended the hotel for our girls long weekend this year, Friday - Tuesday. Hotel was generally very nice again, although there was a few areas I had recommended that have now changed.
We all upgraded to Premium Drinks as this entitled us to real cocktails last year not the disgusting one's that have been preprepared and sat in a jug all day in the bar! However this year after we had all upgraded we were told that they would not make us fresh cocktails, and we could only have the premade ones! Also having drank Bombay Saphire for the first 2 days when we asked for this on the third day we were told we couldnt have it and were quizzed as to which staff had given us it previously.
Last year we also had superior wine and bottled beers available to us in the restuarant with the premium cards, however this year we were told it was draft beer & white wine only, red was in bottles sat on a table.
There is also a lot of inconsistency with bar staff re service, one minute they are happy to take the one card for 4 drinks, then one day they send you back to the pool for a second card, then when you give them two cards the next time they say one is fine, consistency is definetly an issue. Premium cards also allow you bottled mixers yet on several occassions we had to argue to get a bottle rather than draft.
Food in general was reasonable standard although, not always that warm, and towards the end of the meal times was often rather poor. Also less staff in the dining room, which meant on several occassions we had to clear our own plates before the next course.
The glass lift from the lobby to the restuarant is very dangerous, i was first to enter the lift in our party and the doors closed and jammed my arm, leaving me in pain and black and blue from wrist to elbow for 10 days.
The pool area would benefit from some music, particulary at weekends to drown out the stag parties, we were unfortunate to have a spanish stag party and a spanish hen party, who took over the pool area disturbing everyone, I am quite sure a british party would not have allowed to carry on as they did! It was noticeably more pleasant around the pool area when they left on the Sunday. Again an inconsistancy one of my friends was told to cover up with more than just a syrong going to the bar yet the spanish girls were in being served in bikinis, double standards!
The gentleman at reception was very polite and could share his good nature with some of the bar staff!
One final point is that the hotel is either all inclusive or it is not. Although there are snacks in the bar area (sandwiches) you have to pay for these. There are no snacks available outwith the restuarant, and you have to get dressed to go to the restuarant. Often a sandwich by the pool would be sufficient for lunch, but you should not have to pay for it!
I would possibly stay again at the hotel, although it would not be my first choice, some good points to the hotel, although some of the good points that brought us back have now gone, so the value for money is not really there any more.

We stayed at this hotel for 1 week from May 26th on All-inclusive basis (as I think everybody who stops here does) booking through First Choice / Thomson.
We finally arrived in the afternoon to the huge and very impressive looking Levante Club Hotel where we were greeted by the hard working and friendly reception staff who gave us our key card for our room on the 7th floor and explained to us a few things about the hotel and how the all-inclusive works. If I remember correctly there are 12 floors of hotel rooms, with 10 rooms on each floor, all of which have a balcony. However this can make the 4 lifts busy particularly at meal times.
The rooms are very spacious and clean, and the rooms next to the main road all have extended balconies at the side. The bathroom was also a good size with shower, separate shower/bath, wc, sink, hair dryer, bidet and even some free toiletries. Rooms have two single beds, safe in wardrobe (cost 15 Euro for the week), mini-bar (at extra cost), TV and air conditioning.
The restaurant (on level C) served breakfast between 8-10.30, lunch between 1-3.30 and dinner meal between 7-10 and there was always a wide and excellent choice of good quality hot and cold food and drink (with even sangria on tap). The staff in the restaurant are also very friendly and helpful (particularly the gentlemen who clears the tables who is a very nice chap, although I forget his name) and even arranged a birthday cake for us and sang happy birthday. A good tip is to note that the food on both sides does differ slightly so have a walk around the food counters on both sides to get the best choice and also ice cream is available (even at breakfast) from the freezer in the middle.
The pool area has a fair few sunbeds, still probably better to get up early to reserve the best spots (on the left hand side as you look down onto the pool) though. The pool is very refreshingly cold and the pool bar serves drinks up until around 5pm. The hotel does offer an upgrade to branded spirits for an extra cost but there is no point bothering with this as we were always given good stuff anyway. Just remember to always take your key-card to be swiped as this is how the all-inclusive is controlled.
At night time, the hotel provides a range of good quality entertainment in the bar (below reception floor) including ABBA tribute and Jon Silver cabaret singer, who were particular outstanding so do not miss these. All the entertainment at the hotel is co-ordinated by Bridget who is a lovely enthusiastic girl who works at the hotel. We didn’t visit the SPA facilities, but on our last night we did win tickets for use of the spa from winning the cabaret quiz, which we kindly passed on to another couple. Also for those checking out early in the morning, the hotel did put on toast, juice, tea/coffee and biscuits from 6am, which we thought was a very helpful touch and just one of the many ways in which the staff at this hotel demonstrate that nothing is too much trouble.
All in all, an excellent hotel, great staff and facilities, however I would like to confirm what other reviewers are saying in that some stag and hen parties were resident here, so I suppose in a way this adult only hotel does allow kids. It’s funny how Thomson didn’t mention this in their brochures but you can’t take this away from the high quality and standards of the hotel. Remember times are tough, even in the tourism industry so it probably would be harsh to blame the hotel for allowing the stag and hen parties.
I do however wish that Thomson would address the 1 ½ hour wait at Alicante airport for baggage to be delivered with Iberia (their handling agent) which was very annoying, especially after having been sat on their big, cramped and horrible Boeing plane for 2 ½ hours. Again this is just my rant at Thomson who should deliver better quality as the hotel reviewed above did.

Room Tip: All good rooms, but as stated in my review if you get the 10th room on the floor, it has an extended...

Visited Levante Club in 10th April. It is an excellent hotel. Very clean and spacious, the only thing lacking was tea making in rooms but you could get tea and coffee from bar all the time except first thing in the morning so you have to wait for breakfast. The rooms were very clean and spacious with balcony, there was a shower over the bath and also a shower cubicle which was very handy.Entertainment was limited but only to be expected as not in the main season. It is a little out of the way about a 10 mins walk to beach which is absolutely beautiful, I should add my walking is not brilliant. I would say if you like shopping ignore the shops nearest and walk a little further to the sea front. A lot of English pubs and bars around which had great entertainment. The staff are polite and friendly food is good and lots of choice with main meals and puds. Children are not around which make the pool area very quiet. I do not dislike children but my holiday was to escape from all that as a grandmother. The Benedorm Palace is just up the road from it. Very nice hotel and well worth the money. I must add that there were no sleepless nightsdue to noise as in may hotels I would definately return again.

Hotel is beginning to appear a little tired with lifts breaking down, average food and endless Stag & Hen nights. Don't think you will have a peaceful holiday at this Hotel. Perhaps Thomson should reconsider who they send to this apparent 4-Star hotel.

We welcome your comments, we can correct our processes and improve them.
Please note that for safety and comfort of our customers elevators should be checked periodically.

During these reviews the lifts momentarily are not functional but this happens during short intervals of time.

One of our goals is rest and quiet of our customers, when ever a group of clients may disturb other customers, we intervene at the time asking them to respect the rest from other customers

Regards

been to this hotel about six times now. rooms are very roomy and very comfortable. have been in premium room not really worth extra money, but lovely dressing gowns and also free use of fridge(2eur a day) free safe and bottle of wine, also has sunbeds on balcony(we didnt get much sun on balcony but who wants to sit there all day not mixing with others) food has been very good also, but has gone down hill a bit this year but still good food. bar staff are great have a laugh with you. also booking in staff are great to. this is adults only age group usually 30's plus. although at weekends stag and hen dos have been there mostly they are ok, but sometimes can get usual awkward ones. but not very often. entertainment is good also. and daytime entertainment team have games on and encourage people to enter. great pubs across the road which have most acts that in pubs further down. town.round square area. we will be returning this year again.
booze is ok typical allin spanish but can still do the trick lol! I always recommend this hotel to friends. spa is very good and relaxing. great pool area and pool bar. well done to carlos oscar and isablle. great workers.

Room Tip: higher room for view. all rooms are great.
