“a very clean hotel, but no atmosphere”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 April 2012

stayed here 10th april 2012 for one week me and my 11 year old son. First of all would like to say it was ammculately clean. All the flooring around the hotel and rooms was laminated flooring so was cleaned every day, our room was very clean, they were cleaned every day, sheets changed every two days and towels everyday. the cleaners work very hard so well done to them. The staff were very friendly and helpful. could do with extra staff behind bar, only one staff during day and two at night so when it was busy there was a queue for drinks. After three days of eating in restraurant (we was full board) we ending up eating out as we was not keen on food, it was getting to be a chore and not looking forward to meal times. they did not cater for children so my son was not eating except for bread and chips. i was not keen on food at all. staff work hard in restraurant though to keep it clean. The pool was very small and very cold, there was no atmosphere around there either. could do with comfy sunbeds as well. The first two nights the entertainment was excellent the first night a crazy woman singer but she was very good and funny, second night a male singer sang songs from 50s and 60s and then second half done elvis and he was brilliant after that the rest of nights i thought were boring. i was hoping to be some kind of kids entertainment during day for kids but there wasn't so when weather was crap my son was very bored. ok they could do with some kind of sound proofing as the walls were very thin you could hear everything in other rooms. not good at night. during our stay there ended up a lot of spanish people turn up and they could do with changing there manners, as was very rude. overall it was a ok hotel but if going to benidorm again would book somewhere closer to the beach as it was a bit of walk to it. probably go there again if got a real cheap deal as i said it was clean.

Room Tip: rooms can be cold at night, will need to ask for extra pillows as the ones on bed were to small and...

stayed here easter 2012 for 2 weeks have previously stayed albir and did not fancy staying in benidorm however we had a great time and yes some of the comments are true basic rooms, thin walls,no matress covers for loungers but hey what do you expect for the price? we stayed all inclusive and the food was ok bacon, egg, beans, decent sausage, tomatoes, hash browns and even black pudding on offer at breakfast, evening meals whilst not a la carte were acceptable, drinks were good and a good selection, water was free as well.we had sky sports 1 and 3 as well as bbc and itv and movie channel on tv in room, we found staff friendly and the place was clean.the entertainment was repetitive but go out into benidorm all the bars are free entry, we saw crissy rock at morgans tavern, comedian davey royal at the comedy club, abba tribute at broadway and of course sticky vicky to name a few, there are numerous tribute acts/comedians/magicians etc to see so venture out just because you are all inclusive doesnt mean you have to stay around hotel.this hotel is located short walk from shops/bars and the benidorm palace is not to far to walk to either you can get the bus to a variety of places if you wish to venture further afield.we were on the seventh floor and got the afternoon sun on the balcony.would i go back to this hotel most definateley!!

Room Tip: high floor away from lifts

Group of ladies, most of us found the food ok, including 1 vegetarian. Rooms very basic, I was cold as on the non sunny side of the corridor. No frills hotel, been tarted up a bit. Popular with Spaniards it seems, most of whom had no patience with Brits and were a miserable lot of guests. Outside areas were clean and tidy but no pads for sun loungers, no towels and with current weight restrictions it really is a bind to take beach towels. The receptionist was efficient and helpful and very nice, Juan. Bar staff varied from awkward to barely tolerant. We paid all inclusive and were disappointed to have to kick off before we were allowed to eat lunch on our day of arrival. Bearing in mind we started out at 3am from Derbyshire and arrived at our hotel at 12 noon, they were expecting us to wait until dinner before we could eat but it was ok to have drinks from the bar. I asked for a pina colada and was told to go to Barbados, despite servicing sex on the beach and Blue Lagoon. There were 11 of us and so I asked for a large bottle of water to share but was told that all inclusive customers could only have small bottles of water but one person could only get two drinks of anything at a time. Lots of queing up ensued. Would I go back to that hotel, definitely not - lots more places to try that would possibly be more welcoming. Beds were rock hard with hardly any bedding, really cold and uncomfortable. Took ages for the bath to fill and water not very hot - on 7th floor though.

Room Tip: The rooms overlooking inland were warmer.

This is my first time at the Regente hotel but my 19th time in Benidorm.
Hotel is within a short walk from all the major bars and clubs but you also have shops, bars and restaurants right outside the hotel. Union jack pub is great for a change of scene and great food.
Hotel food was always hot but I found it a little repetitive after a week! The deserts were very bland and I would have liked to have seen a hot desert more than once a week.
The hotel lifts need some serious attention! Thankfully we were on a low floor so was able to use stairs.
The walls are like paper. We had people next door to us banging on the walls for us to shut up talking one night. Wouldn't mind but we were only talking in a normal voice and with 2 small children you expect a little bit of talking!
The bar staff were friendly but they could have smiled a bit more! Think there could have been 2 bar staff as the que at times for drinks was quite long. Also would liked to have seen pool bar open during Easter. I had to do many trips up and down the stairs to the bar!!!
The entertainment was great in the evenings. Would liked to have seen something going on during the day if only for the kids. There seemed to be a lot of bored kids in the hotel when the weather wasn't that great.
We took a trip to Terra Nature zoo. I definitely won't go there again! Half of it was shut. We struggled to find someone open for a coffee. I guess there would be more things happening in summer??? The no 1 buss goes straight there and is only €1.40 each. We took a cab which was €12 but we caught the bus back.
All in all a hotel which is good value for money. I'll be back in benidorm in July but this time with a group of girls so we are staying at the ambassador hotel in the thick of things!

We have just got back from my birthday bash (party of 11) and stayed at this hotel for 3 nights (Friday to Monday). On arriving around11.30am we were greeted very welcoming as were in quite high spirits and given our bands as we were all inclusive but then told we couldn't eat till 6pm that evening but could drink. I have never been to a place where you were told a start time because normally as doom as you book in that's the start of your inclusive. Well we complained and were allowed to eat at the hotel but they didn't like it. The food selection was quite good and the food was plenty. If staying for longer then would probably need more choice in main dishes but being women we were happy eating salads and fruit. Very good on the drinks but could only get 2 drinks per person being a larger party it meant several had to que to get the drinks ( unless you had a nice barman) shah always had a nice smile when serving :). Our rooms were very clean and comfortable and they had put our group all together which saves upsetting other guests when returning at unsocialable hours, if we did then sorry !! Evening entertainment was good didn't stay for it on the Friday but as guests that were there on the Saturday night when we dressed in our very colourful 70's outfits with curly afro's will know we enjoyed it, also Sunday night was good as the singer sang stuff for everyone. On the annoying side was the reception staff when we were told we had to ring ourselves to confirm return transfere and use a pay phone, they would not do it but woul ring a taxi for other guests. Never befor have we been anywhere where the staff would not use their phone to do this. Very strange !! Would consider using this hotel tho if we plan on another bash in benidorm as it was very good value for money, convienient for the town and clubs.
