We stayed here for 3 nights in November while in Madrid for a city break. The hotel is on Gran Via which is the main street and is literally at the exit/entrance of the metro station which we had come out of travelling from the airport - if travelling from the airport I would recommend the Metro and not a taxi as this was literally door to door service to the hotel! We arrived hours before the check-in time (11am-ish) and were expecting to just store our luggage before exploring but were allocated a room straight away which was amazing. Considering the reasonable price which we paid for just the standard room we were surprised how fab it was - so clean and large with a balcony too! One highlight would be how sound-tight the room was - as soon as the balcony doors were open Gran Via roared and as soon as they closed the room was silent and peaceful which is exactly what you need in such a central hotel!! We didn't eat within the hotel at all so we can't comment on that but I did have a look at the bar menu which sounded great. One warning I do have though is that this hotel heavily advertises the "roof top pool" which we were excited to take a dip in one morning... after being laughed at/muttered at in Spanish by the bar staff whom provide the towels for the pool we were left confused but proceeded on up anyway... to then discover the pool is NOT heated and was absolutely FREEZING even for us brave Scottish folk who don't mind a cold dip!! We soon returned the towels to the amused bar staff who continued to laugh and mutter in Spanish. We returned to the rooftop that night for a drink (no swimming this time!!!) and watched the sunset which was incredible. We had very few interactions with the staff and reception in this hotel as we ate out each day and all was well with our room but I do feel the staff on check-out could have been a little friendlier but this is a minor gripe. We would highly recommend this hotel which is ideal for a central city break and an escape from the hustle and bustle of Madrid despite being so central.

It may have to do with the eastern weekend, but really not alike a 4 star hotel: the servicing of the rooms was really bad. Did not take more than 3-4 minutes: wet towels remained on the floor in the bathroom, bed quickly covered, ...done... not really servicing actually. At check-out I heard other people also complaining about the same: either similar as for my room, or even room not serviced at all for 2 days. Also service in breakfast area was very inefficient: for every morning they came taking the order for eggs after I finished breakfast from the regular buffet.

The wife and I stayed here during our wonderful Easter Break holiday. We were greeted by the wonderful Mario at the front desk who gave us a wonderful insight to the city and how the food is substandard compared to his beloved Malaga. All in all we had a pleasant stay but it must be mentioned that this is a very trendy and hip hotel and the room layout is a bit odd compared to your standard hotel room, i.e there was a pillar in the middle of the room.

Very stylish hotel, great location and the rooftop bar and pool really made our stay - the views from the top are fantastic and it really is the best way to see Madrid (from above).

Our room was comfy, clean and very modern with a walk in shower in the bathroom. I found all the staff to be very helpful especially the receptionists who answered any questions we had.

The location was perfect because it is on the edge of Malasana where there are lots of nice bars and restaurants (I highly recommend Bar Galleta for food) and it is 5 minutes away from the city centre. There is also a subway station directly outside.

My wife and I and our nine year old son just spent a great week at the Dear Hotek. Room was very comfortable with a great view. Breakfast is delicious and special thanks to Jorge who always made us feel welcome and was so nice to our 9 yr old son.

Room Tip: Top floor rooms have wonderful views and are more spacious. Include breakfast it is worth it!
