We had a room with 3 beds and were there for two nights with 2 adults and two kids. The rooms were very clean and air condition worked fine. The location in Calle de Fuencarral is perfect, if you want to be right in the city center with all the cafes, bars and shops. Great!!!

A nice, simple and quiet HOTEL (not hostel) in the VERY heart of Madrid.
Close to at least 3 metro stations.
Close to many tourist IP which are within a reasonable walking distance.
Close to plenty of restaurants, shops, supermarkets...
Small yet confortable rooms (mine was with shared toilet but with a shower box and a sink inside the room).
No kitchen or restaurant available.

Basic hotel, however clean and well equipped (appreciated the small fridge, kettle and the safe)! The location is just perfect - close to shops, restaurants and most of the main attractions in walking distance.

I stayed here again in February 2016. I was not as impressed as previous stays. The room I stayed in absolutely stunk of body odor from the previous guest. I had to buy air freshener and incense to make the room habitable. The smell was everywhere, even on the pillows, and it made the clothes in my suitcase smell! I had the ceiling fan and window open for the whole 2 days (in winter!). Also a little bit annoying at check-in. They are quite pushy about asking you to pay cash for the room. They make it sound like they cannot accept cards, however I said I didn't have the cash, and they have a credit card machine which functions just fine. The receptionist was a bit angry about this. Not sure why cash or card is such an issue. Nevertheless, the receptionist who is from Spain and works during the weekdays is very friendly. They look after your bags and the location is second to none. It is also secure. The noise from other guests I also noticed last time. Take your ear plugs. I also think they need to upgrade their lime green bed linen, covers and sheets. Concerning the wifi, it drops out after 10 minutes and you need to reconnect. Don't Skype for more than 5 minutes!

Room Tip: Bring cash if you don't want to be bullied at check in!!!

Like others have said, the main selling point is certainly the location. You are right in the centre on the main shopping street with the tube less than two minutes walk away. Central city location without the noise. Yes the doorbell rings through and the walls are thin so you can hear others talking but we planned ahead with this and slept with ear plugs. The room was cleaned well every day and we had a kettle, fridge and microwave in our room which made the fact there is no catering provided much easier in terms of storing milk and juices etc. There is a lack of English spoken by the staff but even when we had a problem she was still able to understand and solve it swiftly. I would highly recommend this to travellers wanting to have a good base to explore the city from.
