I stayed at the hotel liabeny with 11 others as part of a stag trip to Madrid.

The hotel was centrally located and a short walk(5 minutes max) from Sol underground station. The staff were serious but friendly, maybe quite serious as we were a stag party of 12 English guys and anticipated rowdy English, although we were well behaved!

There's a late night pizza place at the end of the road(25 metres from the door) and a shed load of everything including bars, restaurants, shops all very close by! Quite often (4 days) we had a siesta preceding the heavy drinking session in the late afternoon and there was a really annoying tune played continuously by some local shop nearby but then I guess you have to expect that when you're in the heart of a massive busy city like Madrid!

The room had a safe which was easy to use, a minibar, very comfy beds and nicely appointed rooms. The reason we stayed at the Liabeny was the feedback we saw on trip advisor and it was absolutely worth it in my opinion. It offers sensible rates for what is in effect a fairly classy hotel. The white leather sofas in the bar/lounge and the white and black striped carpets in the landings were a nice touch and amazingly clean considering they are sat and walked on so regularly!

None of us took euro adapters for the phone chargers but reception lent us these, even when I didn't have the €5 deposit in cash to hand which I thought was nice of them!

The porters were up all night to allow us entry through the main doors even at 9 in the morning!

So definitely a thumbs up from me!

stayed here overnight on business trip

was all of the above in the title

check-out took about 5 minutes, but that wasn't the end of the world

not a place with a huge amount of character nor charm - rooms were modernized, usual plasma tv, silly chairs etc

but very functional

Room Tip: probably ask for a quiet room if staying on a weekend as the area is rowdy at nighttime for sure

As the room was very hot and the air conditioning is not switched on this time of year, we had to open the window. The hotel is in a fantastic location right in the heart of the City, which means it is very noisy with the window open. So you can either be too hot in a spacious, clean well equipped room or you can be up all night listening to the party goers outside. If you go in a hotter month, then I am sure they will have the air-con switched on, so it won't be an issue, but check before you go. Apart from that, a lovely 4 star hotel at a reasonable price.

Room Tip: Request a room that faces the internal courtyard (less noisy), we did but unfortunately didn't get one :(

We were here for 3 nights, after a long hop, bouncing from Denver--Frankfort--Prague--Madrid with no hotel until Madrid.

Hotel was nice. Everything was clean and the desk staff was usually helpful.

Our room was quiet.

The Liabeny is nicely located close to public tranny to get to museums etc. Interesting square and neighborhood to walk.

Be sure to go to the Corte Inglis department store nearby. Even if you don't buy anything it is an interesting visit but be sure to pick up the brochure or check a guide book that tells its history.

We did not have breakfast at the hotel, but I don't remember why. I think the buffet selection didn't look that good, or, if it was order from the menu, selection was limited and prices high.

We had breakfast and supper at a nearby Cinco Jotas and both were excellent. There is more than one Cinco Jotas location but we only used the one near the hotel.

By the way, the view from our room, 113, of flowers, vines, and distant mountains was painted entirely on the wall of an adjacent building.
A nice hotel. We would use it again.

I stayed here with my mum for a couple of nights in August. It's in a great location. The Hotel itself is beautiful, quiet and understated. The staff is exceptionally good: charming, helpful and attentive. The room we stayed in was very good value for money, very clean and very comfortable. An excellent hotel in a fantastic city.
