This was a short walk from out hotel the Melia Princess. It was delightful. The food was great. The waitress was a delight. When we came back to Madrid we took another friend with us and the experience was just as great the second time around

Made a reservation before traveling to Madrid based on the good reviews. We were not disappointed. Metro provides a very interesting menu in an unpretentious setting. The food was terrific. The server was friendly and helpful. Well worth checking out.

I visited this restaurant after reading the Tripadvisor reviews. I was not disappointed. This is not a bistro, this is a very serious little restaurant for people who want very good food but not the predicatable or boring. Tourists tend to eat here up to 10pm and then it fills up with local Spanish. Booking is essential. I can not praise the food, drinks or service highly enough.

Thank David M

We ate here the last evening in Madrid because of the reviews here on Tripadvisor. As the reviews said it was good but the best of Madrid I doubt.

We made a reservation through their online booking partner and everything was easily done within a couple of minutes. We received the booking number that was verified in the restaurant when we arrive there.

We took a bottle of wine that tasted good. The waiter was friendly and helpful.
As starter we ordered the potatoes as they were recommended here on trip. They were of great taste and the sauces was outstanding.
For the main dish we ordered a steak and the sweet and sour pork. The steak was just like any well baked steak, not the best but tasted great. The sweet and sour pork was outstanding, well cooked and tasted just great, can recommend this to anybody.

As dessert we had the 4 chocolates that was looking good and it's taste very delicious.

The waiter offered us a special alcoholic drink of the house to let us know this local drink. We didn't know what is was but is was so great. A nice strong alcoholic shot with a great taste after. we were very happy with this offer.

We had a great evening with good food and service. After seeing the bill you can only smile.
Very much recommended to everybody who visits Madrid.

Sadly our last night in Spain. What a beautiful meal to end it. Sitting through the dishes served we reminisced all the lovely food we have had and Metro Bistro would be in our top 10. Started with the salmorejo with olive oil ice cream. Would say its the best we have had (may not be traditional). Next was the potatoe brava with 3 dips, again not traditional as the chef had used baby potatoes & ?french violet potatoe, fried just right and not oily. The dips were a romanesque, aioli (?hints of lemongrass) & a Peruvian dip. All flavourful and enhanced the potatoes. This was followed by a single egg cooked at 65C (?sous vide) sitting on a bed of thinly sliced mushrooms, fried bread crumbs and fried trumpet mushroom. The textures, flavour and colours were the most interesting. Unfortunately it was way to heavy on the salt for us, the only fault for the night.
Tried the Spanish style sweet sour pork loin and again high scores on flavour. Wished we had more space but decided to move on to desert. The home made chocolate dish sounded simple but what was served was another thing all together. On a dark tile, 4 different styles of dark chocolate: mousse, truffle, hot chocolate and ?ganache. Can't describe, has to be seen and tasted. Ended with the pineapple cannelloni stuffed with yogurt and mango mousse. Nice and refreshing taste to end the meal.
Staff were friendly and service was above average. The chef himself was on the floor helping with orders and talking with the customers. It got really busy after we got in at 2030. Saw at least 4 groups of people being turned away. Please make reservation so not to be disappointed. I think it's only fair if a restaurant turns customers away if they can't cope with the volume as it would affect the service and food quality.
