“good hotel .. not so good staff.”
Reviewed 11 July 2012

the hotel is closed to relatives and airport, so I stayed for 3 nights. I had a car, and it was tricky to acces the hotel from the highway at the begining, but more likely easier than downtown madrid. I was able to avoid the 15 euros parking using available spots in the sourroundings..
been there for 3 nights ( more than the avarage airport conmmuters) I dealt with different staff at the front desk, and my god these guys are stressed !! if you aren't a "thick skin" kind of guy, don't forget your pepper spray :-) .. specially around 1:00 am.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this very nice, clean modern hotel before flying out of Madrid after a two-week touring of Spain. In addition to free wifi in your room there are also many PCs for internet access in the the hotel's Internet Centre. The PC in the lobby has a printer attached so that you can print out your boarding pass when you do your on-line check-in.
Since the hotel is near the airport in a mixed residential/office and convention centre area do not expect to find as many restaurants as you would in downtown Madrid. However you can use the hotel free half-hourly shuttle bus to go to airport Terminal 1 and take the yellow Airport Express to go downtown (and spend the whole day there, as we did! - since the bus shutle service runs till midnight). The cost for each Airport Express trip is 5 Euros per person.
So if you are looking for a nice, clean modern hotel with many good amenities in a quiet area, away from noisy, busy commercial districts for relaxing then this hotel is highly recommended.
Note that next to this hotel is its sister three-star Axor Feira, which appears to be also very nice, clean and modern and presumably cheaper than this Axor Barajas.

been there just one night before leave Madrid, so needed to be at airport early. Hotel has great design and great service for a very good price. We got an upgrade so room was huge, very clean, with all essencials, airport transfer was included, arrived on time and was fast. We ate at one of the hotel bars, was good. will repeat for sure.

This modern, stylish hotel, a complimentary van ride away from Madrid's bustling Barajas airport, is an all-around great value. It's hard to believe the pricing is so good. There's even a first rate restaurant on premises! If you're passing through Madrid, this is an ideal spot to overnight.

I stayed at this close to airport hotel for work this week.

I was upgraded to a room (532) with a living area as well as walk in shower, flat screen tv, laptop, minibar and an ultra wide bed. Everything was clean and modern with black out blinds, helpful for the light mornings.

The bar area is relatively small but it has a largish restaurant which also doubles as a room for breakfast. I had breakfast and lunch in the hotel, good quality food, great selection and some lovely wines. Service was excellent and the staff very obliging - you only had to ask.

There is a fitness centre but I didnt use that. There are always taxis outside to take you anywhere and some gardens to walk in.

The hotel is close to the airport (10 mins bus provided by the hotel which runs every 30 mins)

Overall I had a pleasant 3 day stay, and would recommend this hotel if you are flying in/ out of the airport. That said it is only about 15 minutes into the city centre so could be a base to stay for the centre too.
