“very nice hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 June 2012

Although the location was far from everything and my taxi bill went up very fast, the room was fantastic for europe. Spacious, new, clean and the tub was perfect. Due to the location, I probably will not stay there again.

This hotel is a little on the pricey side, but we very much enjoyed our four nights here. We had a junior suite which had a sofa bed for the kids. It was quite a tight fit, but perfect for our needs. The cost of a junior suite was around the same cost of two very poor rooms in another hotel in Madrid, so it was a good deal for us.

Breakfast was expensive but they they only charged one breakfast for three kids. Still, at €75 for 6 people it is about 4 times more than a Madrid cafeteria so I would suggest only doing it once or twice as a treat or if you are feeling lazy.

One drawback for families is no pool, but this is not sold as a family hotel - more a business hotel. And the staff recommended a local public swimming pool, which sounded good. It is only 5 minutes walk from a metro which takes you to the center and there is even a playground next to the neighbouring tower.

It might not suit everyone, but we really enjoyed our stay as the rooms were modern and the staff were really helpful. There was also a spa which you got to use for an hour a day per adult as part of the cost of a junior suite, but we didn't get a chance to use it.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the Paseo de la Castellana side.

The hotel itself is very scenic, it is huge and of course it has the advantage of showing you Madrid from above but that's about it. I couldn't believe the room didn't have proper soap/shampoo and all the commodities you would expect form a 5 star hotel. They just provided some cheap little samplers that were not enough for 2.

The bathroom was smelling I don't know if it was from the pipe system or from the products they use to clean but it really had a strong and disturbing smell. OK the price was not bad, 120 eur for a room at the 23rd floor is not too bad but It is at most a 4 star hotel, not really worth 5 stars.

Still, since I was in excellent company, it doesn't really matter, but I have to say one of the guys working at the hotel didn't see me and asked the girl i was with if she needed company in her room, since she seemed to be alone near the lift and I was at the reception, that was really unprofessional.

The hotel is very nice, modern, clean and away from the center if that's what you wish. We had a sky room with nice views. Service is very good too. However, at check-in we were asked, because of a recent change in policy, to settle the room in advance. I don't think this is acceptable in a 5-star hotel since you are likely to spend more during your stay anyway and the only message you take away is: thanks for staying with us but we don't trust you!!! Not good.

I have stayed in this hotel several times. Always on business. I find the room quality very good for a 4 star hotel, but reasonable prices.

Showers a real treat. Food a bit disappointing not of exceptional quality ( room service or bar) Breakfast very nice

Free wifi a nice touch.
