We had a lovely evening here, eating far too much food as we were tempted by too many things on the menu. Three starters was probably a bit excessive, and although we loved the huge mozarella and tomato salad, liked the cod brandade, the squid was just ok, and we could have done without it. For mains I had the monkfish, based on the reviews I'd read - it was tasty, but the amount of fish was a bit limited once you picked it off the bone, and I would have preferred a fillet. Hubby had beefsteak and peppers, which was you self-cooked on the hot plate they served it on - nice, however, he commented that it was quite salty, and the quality of the beef could have been better. We really enjoyed the chocolate ganache dessert and the wine. Overall, a lovely evening with nice, but not outstanding, food (but was the best we had in Girona).

Little piece of heaven in terms of flavour and presentation, the portions are small but tasty , the service was really brisk and friendly, our waitress gave excellent advice on food choices and wine..the restaurant is very well presented and just over the red Eiffel bridge and the staff deserve every success for their beautiful and innovative menu choices...

Beef Galician style served sizzling. Veal, calamar, baccala - ooh la la!

Our group of seven had a wonderful evening here on our last night of ten nights in Girona.

The restaurant was recommended by locals and they were right - this is a very good restaurant. It's run extremely capably and with great style by Marga and the food and wine are a match for her ability to work the floor. This was a truly memorable meal.

Everyone in the restaurant was having fun.The mussels and onion rings were flying out of the kitchen like hotcakes. Our two starters of Iberian ham and L'Escala anchovies were wonderful. But nothing could compare with one of our entrees, the baked Monkfish, fisherman style, which was totally amazing. Our server, a sweet woman who took great care of us, and everyone else in the restaurant, suggested a local white wine,
a 2016 Silencis, which paired perfectly with the food and was an absolute steal at 15 Euros a bottle. One of the great things about this restaurant besides the delicious food was the "unstuffiness" of the place. No pretenses, just an easy comfortable place to have a great dinner.

We had dinner here after a day trip to Aiguablava and Empuries. My wife is vegetarian and sometimes finding a place that works for our omnivorous teenagers and her can be quite challenging, but Probocador absolutely delivered! The hostess was gracious and welcoming, the ambience on the street was beautiful and I have no doubt they have a master chef at the helm in the kitchen. Our son had the monkfish which is a highlight, we shared a vegetarian paella which was excellent, a local red wine recommendation and a cheesecake to die for. Very reasonable prices and a great experience. Highly recommend.
