I stayed here with my wife to watch the champions league semi final, this is a fantastic hotel if you are coming to Barcelona for a long weekend with great facilities. What I love about this hotel was that breakfast was just so good, with a great selection of hot and cold food washed down with a glass of champagne served on the terrace at the rear of the hotel in the sun. If it had been warmer we would have spent more time on the roof by the pool bar. Our room was very smart and comfortable. With the metro 5 minutes away, you could be at the ramblas very quickly. The staff were friendly and helpful even had a laugh with them when Chelsea beat Barcelona.

Stayed: April 2012

Great hotel, big and lavish rooms. The staff is very friendly, and when they knew we were on our first wedding anniversary sent us a cake and a bottle of champagne to our room. The pool on the top floor has a breath taking view and the hotel is a mere 100 meters from the beach. Excellent breakfast. Well worth its 5 star.

Spent 4 nights after Easter with my wife on our first visit to Barcelona at the Pullman Skipper Hotel.
The Pullman Skipper is a very modern hotel catering for both business and tourist clientele.
It is fronting onto a busy main road and extending onto adjoining side road, which leads to the beach/marina and bars and restaurants.(about 5 minutes walk).
As this was our first visit to Barcelona we did what everybody tells you - buy tickets for the hop on, hop off bus tour, and I will be repetitive and also advise all new visitors to do this.
We bought the two day ticket being €31 against €25 for one day - no brainer really !!
The pick up point for us was about 5 minutes walk and got us access onto the "Green" route, which as others have said is not the most enthralling tour, but as you can hop on and off both the "Green & Red " routes it made sense to do both and see as much as Barclona as you can.
The sites in Barcleona were very similar to any other major city with the exception possibly of the ongoing building of the "Familie Sograde" (Sacred Family) Cathedral/Church ?
I think the latest estimate was another 20 years to complete !

Lots of nice places to stop and eat in the Ramblas, which was very popular/lively.

Service in the hotel was good and reception/concierge very helpful, polite and friendly.

I have to say we were not impressed with the food either at breakfast nor in the evening - the breakfast choice was limited , although you could ask for eggs etc.,but the actual spread was pretty sparse, and the one thing I disliked is that you were not given a pot of coffee, you were poured out a cup and if the waiting staff were not busy you may have got a second cup.
As to the evening meal , it was also very limited, albeit nice, and we had to eat in a sectioned off part of the bar with loud TV noises, as the dining room was not open.
We ate in the hotel on our first night and last night, eating at local restaurants on the other two nights.
As I pointed out this was a dual client hotel and during the period we were there, there were a lot of business delegates at conferences and all you saw at the breakfast table were fingers working IPads , and loud conversations in Eastern European accents - not very touristy.
The position of the hotel would be ideal for the summer months, where the beach is literally a five minute walk - but in April the weather is not ideal for a lazy beach holiday.
Overall a nice clean, modern hotel and would recommend it - but perhaps think of eating out in the evenings at local restaurants.

Just back from spring break where we had a great stay at the Pullman Barcelona Skipper. The hotel was excellent and the staff were beyond helpful and happy to share their city. The breakfast is excellent and the bar was very nice. The rooms were large and I loved the bed. The hotel is just a block from a metro station and right by the beach with a very active night life. We all had a blast and would defiantly recommend this hotel.
