“Great hotel, great location, great staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 May 2012

Stayed in April 2012, my first visit to Spain. I booked this hotel based on other reviews and it was exactly what I expected. Very friendly hotel and staff, very clean, and the staff is very attentive and helpful. I also liked how safe I felt, as I was traveling with only one other person and it was my first time visiting Spain.

Walking distance to la rambla. I'm happy it's not on la rambla bc it's a nice break from the hectic crowds there. Overall great stay and would recommend it to anyone!

The hotel is in a very central location, just one street block from the "Rambla", and only about 100 meters from a metro and train station. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly, the hotel is very neat, clean and modern, and the rooms and bathrooms are very nice (they are not huge, though...they are European). All of this would suit a 4 or 5 star hotel very well and it is really exceptional for a 3 star hotel.

The breakfast buffet is very nice, too. It is not huge, but it has a nice selection and the food that is offered, is of very good quality. Also, the staff is most helpful and quick.

The hotel seemed to be mostly frequented by tourists (not surprising, given its location). I was on business in Barcelona, and I would recommend the hotel for both: business and leisure. The hotel, just as Barcelona in general, is not cheap. But even though the price of Hotel Jazz might seems to be on the higher end for a 3 star hotel, it is still a very good value for your money, because the hotel is far, far better than your normal 3 star hotel and puts many 4 star hotels to shame.

I would definitely come back to Hotel Jazz!

We chose The Jazz based solely on Trip Adviser comments and so glad we did. Arriving by air we took the Aerobus for E5 each got off at University stop, walked 100 metres and voila - we arrive at our modern hotel - easy. The rooms are clean, big enough, with desk and separate chair. Our room looked out over a busy street with a lovely vista but once the door was closed the noise virtually gone. We booked for 2 nights but loved the city and the accommodation so extended our stay which was no problem for staff who gave us the same rate. Free wifi a bonus.

Some have commented on the rooftop pool and bar but we were out and about enjoying the city sites and the many cafes so didn't even see them but if the hotel generally is anything to go by I'm sure they are fine too.

A short walk to Plaza Catalunya and all the city has to offer. We highly recommend Hotel Jazz.

Stayed here for four nights in a family (corner) suite. The hotel is in a fantastic location within walking distance of Las Ramblas and close to both Metro and Airport bus stops, but just off the main (noisy) tourist streets.

The room was large with a cleverly placed partition which gave privacy to both beds, it was clean, well decorated and very comfortable. We were on the fifth floor and whilst there was a bit of street noise we were not distracted by the metro as described by other guests.

Front of house was relaxed and friendly offering great help with restaurants - La Flauta on Carrer d' Aribau serves fantastic Tapas.

We were on a price including breakfast which was very nice but if not included there are plenty of local cafes where you can eat well for less than the hotel charges.

We did go up to the roof terrace where the views are fantastic, but as it was October the pool was not an option and the bar was closed. I think they miss a trick by not having space heaters out of season as the roof bar area is an underused asset.

However we would not look to stay anywhere else if returning to Barcelona, absolutely five star.

Room Tip: Higher floors have less street/metro noise.

I stayed here with a friend 3 years ago and it was great. This time 6 of us went for a 3 day city break and it was perfect. Spotlessly clean, very quiet, lovely breakfast, very helpful friendly staff and right in the centre of everything. A large comfortable bed. Free WI Fi which worked in the bedrooms. Lovely roof top swimming pool with lots of loungers. A box full of toiletries. Could not fault it and we run a 5 star gold establishment in England, so I am very, very fussy.
