We stayed in Barcelona for 4 nights and this hostel was fab, it was cheap and cheerful, not too busy or loud, the staff were helpful, friendly and laid back. Would definitely recommend!! Clean bedding, showers and toilets, really enjoyable experience! (Love the three British annoying girls who always sat by the fan) xxx

Only stayed one night but we had very friendly staff.
My friend and I shared the double room which has the weirdest bed known to man, but it was all right for one night.
It would be good to have a fan in the room of some sort. We had a cockroach and we didn't want to let more bugs in with the window open over night so we were boiling hot. Oh and the shower needs to be unclogged - kind of gross when you're sharing with other travellers.
It was a nice enough place, and the guys are all very helpful and friendly. If I were to stay again I would probably stay in a mixed dorm room but mainly because it's cheaper.
I think the guys are doing a really good job anyway.

From my perspective, if you are not young/partying people, staying in this hostel can ruined all your experiences in Barcelona. As we don't know this, staying there was our BIG MISTAKE!

The only good thing about this hostel is the location: very central, easy access to metro, near bars/club/shopping area.

On arrival: We arrived there on Friday with no online booking. However we did checked room's availability and prices 30 minutes before we came.

There were 2 staffs: a boy and an Aussie girl.

- Arrival:
When we asked for the room, the staff (boy) look like he was stoned, stated the room price 25% higher than the one that we saw online, saying that "Our boss might have adjusted the price, the price is higher than you saw online because this is weekend".

=> This is not true, the price wasn't changed. We made online booking right there at the hotel, paying online advertised price.

- Room:
We stayed in a 'Private double/twin room". The room was 4 steps away from the common area, making it is super easy to hear every noise. As the walls are also not very thick, the staffs played some House/dance music and we can hear and feel the bass in our room even though it was locked and closed tightly.

To be specific, this is what we have experienced:
10.30pm - 11.30pm: Music + bass + people was talking, laughing. We feel like we try to sleep in a club, not a hostel.
11.30pm - 5.00am: After talking with the staffs, there was no more music. People seem to try keeping their noise down. However... DOOR SLAMMED EVERY 10 MINUTES from 12 to 5.pm.

- Bathroom:
Hot water and toilet were fine. However the bath tub's drain was blocked. Water was running slow. After taking 15 minutes shower, the water was 20 cm above my ankle and couldn't run away. Seriously, it need a lot of Caustic Soda.

- Common area:
More like a club, really! There was music with bass, young girl with drinks, people with cigarettes. I only been in that room for 5 minutes and I smell like a walking cigarettes.

We made a booking for 2 nights, stayed there for 1 night and decided to leave. We was trying to get the refund for the night we didn't spend but the staff refused.

Overall:
For me it was a nightmare, a filthy place to stay. Maybe because I am old and not a party girl. Not to mention we was tired as well. The moment we left this place, we feel so much more alive.

People was friendly in their own way. If you are introverted, looking for a place to rest after a tired day or wanting to spend your time alone. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOSTEL!!

However, if you are looking for a one night stand, partying, meeting young girls and love being wasted. This is definitely your place.

P/S: I stayed there at the end of January (not even tourism season). Even with earplus, it can not be helped. Sorry because of bad English.

Room Tip: Not a place for introvert. Only stay here if you are love nightlife + partying

My stay was astounding. By far, one of the best hostels in Europe! If you stay at the Living Room Plaza Catalunya, expect 5-star treatment, great facilities, excellent staff, cozy amenities like the kitchen, and the LIVING ROOM. You won't be disappointed if you book a room or bed at the Living Room Plaza Catalunya.

Room Tip: Really good location in the center of Barcelona. Convenient to shopping, nightlife, and landmarks. Very small, but cozy hostel with trendy amenities. Book a bed or room today!!!
