What a wonderful day! Chef Leena was a great host. She was very friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and an excellent teacher. It was very interesting to tour the Boqueria prior to starting cooking and learn about some the history and how it operates. The kitchen was equipped with modern high-quality appliances and the cookware and cutlery were excellent. Everyone was able to participate in as much preparation as they liked. I picked up several excellent new cooking tips! Everyone in the class seemed to have a nice time and the ice was broken quickly and all seemed to get along nicely, the mood was very light, fun, and festive. I highly recommend a class with BCNkitchen and will definitely return for another class myself. Thanks Chef Leena

We took a 10am class with Leena, our fabulous chef, and started with a very informative tour of La Boqueria. We got so many tips on what kind of ingredients to be looking for, which stalls to frequent, and the history behind the food we would be making. Leena is so personable and kind; we immediately felt at ease with her and with the others in our class. After shopping in the market, we went back to the kitchen with our fresh ingredients and started preparing. Leena was a great teacher, allowing us to fully immerse in the hands-on part of the class, while also giving practical tips and help when needed. We chopped vegetables, cleaned and prepared the seafood, made paella stock, flipped the tortilla (Spanish omelet), whipped up the dessert, and everything in between. My boyfriend was the brave volunteer who got to dissect the cuttlefish (with guidance) for the paella, which was a highlight for him. We made 5 different dishes, each of which was delicious. This was a fantastic way to spend the morning/afternoon, and we left with full stomachs and an excitement to try the recipes and new skills at home.

We took a morning class with Chef Alvaro and loved every minute. We are from the States and visiting our daughter who is studying in Barcelona so we had our mornings free when she was in class. My husband was a little apprehensive as he is not really into food preparation but he enjoyed it very much. The tour of La Boqueria was great and really helped our understanding of the dishes we prepared. Chef Alvaro was a great teacher and a fantastic chef. We had a lot of fun with our small group and the food was delicious!! Highly recommend!!

We took a morning class with Chef Leena at the La Boqueria location. The market tour prior to the class was fantastic. Chef Leena provided a lot of information about the fresh food at the market and answered a lot of questions. She also recommended some products/restaurants not available at the market and those recommendations were spot on. The class itself was interesting and I learned a lot about Catalonian cuisine. Chef Leena was both personable and knowledgable. The meal we prepared was delicious, the wine was very nice and the company was great. I would highly recommend taking this class at the beginning of your visit to Barcelona, as Chef Leena provided a lot of recommendations for dining in the city.

My husband and I wanted to try a Catalan cooking class while we were on our honeymoon, and we are so glad we chose BCNKitchen!! The opportunity to tour La Boqueria market and pick up our food nice and fresh from the market was amazing, and the recipes we cooked were sooooo delicious. As an instructor, Chef Alvaro was really excellent -- he was full of interesting tidbits on international cuisine, and did a great job making sure that everyone was engaged.
