“WONDERFUL FIND”
Reviewed 18 June 2012

This is a restaurant that we found reviewed on Trip Advisor and decided to go despite one very critical review. The atmosphere was charming done in beautiful vibrant colors. The food was wonderful and the staff couldn't be friendlier and engaging. This is essentially a market turned restaurant. I loved the interplay - fun and delicious!

“Great meal to end our trip.”
Reviewed 14 June 2012

It was our last day in Barca we were schedule to eat at Moo at the Hotel Omm. At the very last minute, we decided to try something else as my GF is not a big fan of molecular gast. We decided on this restaurant, which was a quick 5 minute walk from Hotel 62. As expected with a walk in, no tables were available and we opted to sit at the counter while waiting for a table. Since it was our anniversary, i had a nice bottle of Bollinger Grande Rose with me and wasn't sure if they would let us open it. But the host...probably guessing she is the owner was nice enough to accomodate us.

I had the following....Rustic Bread with Tomato and Olive Oil...Meat balls with potatoes...with a shot like amount of asparagus soup on the house for appetizers. For main, we had Roast beef and the Salmon Filet. All dishes were fantastic and all were recommended by the our very attentive waiter.

My first meal was at the Montiel restaurant...which is apparently #2 on Tripadvisors....I will visit La Cuina again as food is fresh/delicious and the ambience is fantastic and will not bother with another visit to Montiel.... make sure to make reservations!

“A real treat: dining in a fresh food market”
Reviewed 28 May 2012

Quite a delightful surprise during our visit in May, 2012! We had a light dinner in this lovely, small "market". The front of the store sells fresh fruits, vegetables, cheese, breads, meat and fish. The back has only a few tables where we were seated at a long table with some local residents .
We engaged the owner in an interesting conversation while we dined on smoked salmon on crusty bread; several cheese; olives and a very fresh green salad. We wish we would have had time to return here when we were hungrier to order a full dinner. The owner, who spent 10 years in the U.S., is from a family that for generations (until the 1970's) manufactured and filled seltzer bottles (just like the ones we used to get delivered to our home when we were growing up in New York City.) Some of these old bottles were displayed around this market. We highly recommend this place for a "local" experience.

“Amazing!!!.... THE REAL BARCELONA”
Reviewed 4 May 2012 via mobile

It is probably the restaurant that most reflects Barcelona's charm. The atmosphere, the decoration, the treatment and most importantly the food, are all amazing (great SELECTION of products, each one brought specially from a specific producer around Spain, Italy and France). I have discovered this restaurant just 3 months ago and I love it. If you want to feel the real Barcelona....can't miss this place!.
