“Great location, ok room.”
Reviewed 11 July 2012

The location of this place is fantastic! Just a 10-minute walk from Pl. Catalunya, where the Aerobus (from Terminals 1&2 of Barcelona Airport) drops off its last passengers. A few steps to one side is the Tourism Office (where you can pick up free maps and 2for1's on lots of attractions) and to the other, the famous Rambla (where you can easily access the Boqueria market for fresh produce). Excellent central spot to catch city buses, tour buses and the tube. Rooms are quite outdated and small, however the bathrooms have been recently update and are surprisingly spacious. The street noise unfortunately echoes through the courtyard, so that was disappointing, but the location made up for it.

Stayed here for 2 nights recently. Normally I book on recommendations from trip advisor, but this time I was booked in by my travel agent as part of a package.

This hotel is located in the "gothic" quarter very close to Les Ramblers. Which is a great location close to lots of local attractions. Barcelona is a fabulous city and well worth a visit.

The hotel itself is a little disappointing. The room I was in was very small with 2 single beds. It had an unconventional shape but with a nice juliet balcony. Bathroom was old with soap, some thin towels and not much else. There was a safe but there was a small charge for the key (1 euro a night). The room was not comfortable and everything was quite old. However it was the noise during the night that stopped me from getting a good nights sleep. From midnight on there was noise from the restaurant below as they cleaned up endless empty wine/beer bottles and then locals used the courtyard below the rooms to take a short cut presumably home. There was talking, singing and playing guitars throughout the night with the occasional guest yelling out of the hotel to tell them to shut up (in Spanish). This went on till at least 3am. At about 5am deliveries started for the local business. Now this is not the hotels problem but be warned that this place is noisy.

Breakfast was located in the basement area and has an old world decor and is quite charming. Breakfast was a little different but had lots of choice and very enjoyable. Service was good and there was plenty to eat. Well done here.

Front desk were helpful and friendly and the hotel was quite quirky in design. Possibly from its age and numerous alterations over the years.

When I arrived I was a bit disappointed but left enjoying the breakfast, all the nooks, crannies, strange staircases and quirky design.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room.

Just spent a few days for my birthday at the Rialto in Barcelona, et just off the Rambla, and very close to all the buzz, he hotel was presentable, the staf wre very helpful , pleasant and cheerful.
The rooms were quite basic and a bit dated, be careful in the bathroom as the floor canbe a bit slippy when wet, but clean and tidy, the towels were not the bst in the world to say the least, but changed every day as was the bed linen, air con was very good. lifts to all floors (2) .
The restaurant/ breakfast room was very good and the food varied and of a pretty fair standard, the staff were helpful if a bit bored with it all. ecofee was especially good and welcome.on our departure th reception sta were moe than happy, with taxis and such. All in all, I liked the Rialto, and nex time I go to Barcelona W ill possibly stay there again.

Room Tip: Rooms were decent and adquate

My friend and I stayed at the Rialto Hotel in May 2011 for four days whilst visiting Barcelona and found it a very good hotel. We had a really good deal on the price compared to some of the other hotels in the area. The hotel was quite basic but this is what we expected for the price we paid. The hotel staff were friendly when we checked in and out and allowed us to keep our suitcases safely in a room throughout the day after we had checked out until our transfers collected us in the late evening. The breakfast was included in the price and was a buffet stle breakfast which had something for everyone - cereals, toast, fruit, yoghurts, cheese and meats. It wasn't the best breakfast we've ever had but again we weren't expecting it to be because of the price we paid. We had a twin room which was clean and tidy and the hotel was ideally placed just off La Ramblas and within walking distance of the Port, hundreds of shops and restaurants, several subways stops and one of my favourite places - The Gothic Cathedral. Even some of the places that required a taxi journey - Sa Grada Familia and Nou Camp were easy to get to as there was a taxi rank located a few metres away and surprisingly the taxis in Barcelona are incredibly cheap. I would recommnd the Rialto hotel for people on a budget who are after a basis but good standard hotel ideally placed to all the local sights.

Room Tip: Try and get a room that overlooks the courtyard - it will be much quieter than one that overlooks th...

There was 14 of us went on this weekend break,it didnt get off to a good start. To begin with they had lost some of the names who were stopping in our party,so we were held waiting in the reception. And the female on the desk was a real dragon.Eventually we were given our rooms.
Once there the room was spacious, and after a few liquid refreshments it was very comfortable. The self serve breakfast was pretty tasty.
Another problem was found by one of the other couples during our stay, and that was they were near the lift shaft and it was very noisy while in use.
Although we encountered the problems I would use the hotel again just because of its location, its only a few minutes stroll to the Rambla. But once you get there keep a grip on your wallet/purse.
Once we returned and compained to the booking company ( ALPHA ROOMS )we were given some money back for the trouble.
