We were in Barcelona for 1 night only and thanks to a great deal we got a king bed double room for $97/night. The hotel is only a few blocks from Las Ramblas and if we had had more time I'm sure we would have loved the rooftop pool, but unfortunately we didn't get to it (bummer!).
Driving on Par.a.lel is a hectic experience and we ended up driving right past the hotel the first time around because it blends in well with the apartment buildings and is understated from the outside. We were in a rush to return our rental car before the location closed so the front desk staff helped us check our bags quickly and get the room keys before jetting off to drop the car. The front desk attendant who helped us must have thought our disheveled selves weren't up to standard with his 4* hotel, but the rest of the staff were overly gracious and helpful our entire stay.
The room was impeccably clean and modern, save for the bathroom which was very clean though had outdated style. The bed was heavenly, especially after a full day of being avid walking tourists, and although our large window faced the street we never had any noise issues. Par.a.lel is the theater district not the clubbing district so we lucked out in not having hardcore club music outside our window.
Breakfast was something absurd like 15 euros so we passed and indulged at the market on Las Ramblas. You're getting SO much for your money and the experience was well worth it. Though we were uber careful with our things I never felt like I was going to be robbed in the market or anywhere else in Barcelona this time around. Always keep an eye out for your things, but I felt very safe as a female with a purse throughout the city and especially in this market.
