Don't be fooled by the flowery and slightly dated decor, this hotel is really good. Fab location right next to the Cathedral and therefore, near to La Ramblas and Barri Gotic. Larger than average sized rooms in a European capital, comfortable beds, an easy to use safe, large, clean bathroom with a good shower too. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice including cereals, meats and cheeses, yoghurts, fruit and even scrambled eggs and bacon! The hotel staff are helpful and there is always someone there to give assistance - I asked for an extra blanket late in the evening and they got me one straight away.
As many others have said about all Barcelona hotels, the TV channels were limited and there was street noise but nothing too bad at all. Just bring ear plugs.
We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Room 261 has an amazing balcony which would be brilliant in the summer and it seemed as though rooms...

Excellent location. Friendly staff and very clean. Our biggest problem with this hotel was the noise level coming from outside, especially on weekends. Even with the windows closed we could hear people outside throughout the night and we were on the 4th floor. The air conditioning had not been turned on resulting in a really warm room (we are not on the Barcelona temperature schedule). We think this would have been fine to stay at during the week for just a night or two but for a longer stay, during a weekend, we would recommend staying further from the action so you can sleep through the night.

Wondeful hotel..clean, perfect location near Barcelona Cathedral. Just far enough away from hustle of Las Ramblas but only 5to to 10 minutes walk.
It is just one half block behind main hotel which is perfect as it makes it more peaceful. The only downside is that breakfast should be included but extra charge is not excessive.

We went to this hotel as it was based in a very convenient location for all amenities. It is behind the Hotel Colon and just a short walk to the Gothic Cathedral. The hotel was spotlessly clean and very basic. Our room was the same as most hotels that I have stayed in before but very functional. It did seem to be bit noisy but what else can you expect in the busy area that the hotel is located. It didn't trouble us unduly. The breakfast was a buffet style and you could choose cereals and then you had scrambled eggs, bacon and little sausages. There was a toaster to use with choices of bread . There was also a selection of cold meats and fruits with yoghurts and croissants. It was a little samey after the first two days but at least it set you up for the day. There are loads of places to get coffees and snacks. Las Ramblas is only a few minutes walk through a little warren of streets with little shops. There is also a tourist bus which you can buy a 1 or 2 day ticket for. this takes you to all the tourist places on either the red, blue or green route. You get offat the stops and then get back on the next bus when you are ready. Sagrada Familia is fantastic and worth a visit. We then went to Park Guell where Guadi lived for 20 years and there is a museum there. The Casa Batllo is well worth a visti but may seem quite expensive but the building is amazing.
We walked for miles but is worth the effort and there are some fantastic eateries. The main one we used was Choquitas on Las Ramblas and the waiters were very friendly.
The best two were Estruch which is opposite the Gothic Cathedral just round the corner from the hotel. The food was excellent and good value for the portion size. The most relaxed one was at the port and is called the Celler de Tapas in Placa Universitat. Amazing food
Would go again

We chose the hotel for its proximity to Catalunya and La Rambla. The room was larger than expected and included a sitting area. The bathroom was spacious. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel since we decided to try local cuisine.

Nightlife is non-existent during the week. We were unseccessful in finding any places to hang out during the late hours.

Victor was very helpful with tour suggestions. We added Montserrat and a flamenco show to our already full itinerary. Both are a must. The hop-on hop-off gave a great overview of Barcelona. We needed another day to take it all in.

Overall, a great location and would stay here again.
