location is great but you will NOT be able to move in the room, if you are a couple or a family one person can move and the others should stand still.
bed is small , I will not give this hotel more than 2 stars
- Free Wifi
Although half way between two Metro stops - either one is very close and it is very close to the Plaza de Catalunya where celebrations are held and you can catch just about any tour or on/off bus... the beach is about a 15 minute walk right at the end of La Ramblas. First let me tell you Barcelona is awesome! Beach, side streets, street shops... the whole experience was as good as it gets... also if you are language challenged as am I, it was not a chore to get language help here in Barcelona... Madrid was another story, but Barcelona was great for English speaking folks...
So back to the hotel... also very much a boutique hotel in that there is no grand lobby and it gets pretty crowded while people are checking in and out... but don't be discouraged by the lobby because the hotel overall was wonderful... front desk personnel all spoke English and were helpful in all ways as if you were provided concierge service... cabs, places to eat, calling places where the native language was needed... they were great... the room was a nice size and reasonable equipped... even had a few English channels (took a few days before we found this out) and even though Ramblas is a very noisy street (mainly from pedestrians) the double, double windows were very adequate to keep the noise level down... it was especially noisy the night Spain won the Euro 2012 tourney by beating Italy (1st time since 1920 I think they said)... this was a wonderful little boutique hotel and you won't be sorry to visit Barcelona staying here... I loved it.
There were a couple things to be aware of that might matter to you... we had two twin beds put together that kept moving apart at times... an underpowered hair dryer and for some reason our internet access was terrible... it is free and you can pay for a higher speed, but the room we were in barely had reception, so not sure that would have helped... no pool or fitness center, but that didn't seem uncommon in the touristy areas.
This is a nice hotel with an incredible location. We booked the hotel bundled with the airfare through Expedia. My wife really likes taking a bath at night, so I requested that via email. They answered my email and were able to accommodate my request.
We had a room that looked over the ramblas, but their double panes windows do a good job of keeping the room quiet enough to sleep even when Spain won the euro cup...
The mini bar is just a small fridge stocked with the usual mini bar fare. The nice part is, you can use the fridge without paying for the minibar as long as you put the items back before you checkout.
It's really close to a cheap super market, and one of the greatest food markets in the world, La Boqueria. There's a breakfast buffet available for €15, but I opted for breakfast places outside the hotel.
A great place to stay to be in walking distance to many sites!!
Very nice localization in one of the main points of Barcelona (Las Ramblas). Modern instalations, clean, great breakfest services and staff prepared to speak english. I loved it.
We booked a last minute stay here the day before travelling to Barcelona. Upon arriving we were told we'd been upgraded to a superior room. Nice!
Throughout our stay, the staff were very friendly and helpful, giving advice on what to visit, where to eat.
Breakfast was also very nice, with a wide selection of pastry, hot food, fruit, drinks, etc. Our kids loved it!
The only negative point is that the wifi can be a bit flakey at times, but then it is free.
Overall, a very pleasant stay. Recommended.
Great location, right on the main strip and next door to a great Flamenco show. Easy to walk to most locations and used the metro for the rest, plenty of metro stops close to the hotel. Very clean and staff was nice. The hotel walls were a little thin as we heard the couple next to us....needless to say we got a little laugh out of that one. All in all a great place to stay.
