“Central but .....”
Reviewed 13 May 2012 via mobile

Very Central small Hotel close to Placa Catalunya.

Tiny Rooms with with Not much of a Flair Otter than we need some good cleaning new Paint to fill the cracks ans to make "marks" dissapear.

My Room had a 2.5 x 2.5 ft Balcony looking into an unpleasant Backlot....

The Bathroom i had to clean first - yellow spots on the Toilet are one of my Favorites.

They told me I have a Bathtub - right for the tiniest small people - it's a shower with a BTub shaped Bowl.

I will not go there again.

Stayed May 2012, travelled on business

CHECK IN

We arrived at this hotel after our cruise at about 10:30am and they were of course expecting us at that time, so you would think the room was ready, you would be so wrong,

We checked in and done all the paperwork, the reception staff didnt even crack a smile. I tried to make friendly chat throughout the process but to no avail. very rude staff.

We were told the room would not be ready until 3:00pm, I am disabled and needed to take medication that can not be taken in public so my husband informed them of this and was told very rudely that we would have to wait till 3:00pm, even though spanish speaking guests were shown directly to their rooms and they all arrived after us.

I was becoming very distressed after almost 2 hours waiting time and my medication an hour or so over due and my husband spoke to reception for about the 10th time and said an official complaint was going to be made and then all of a sudden a room was found for us.

No apology for the wait or anything.

Not a good start

THE ROOM

Getting to the room was difficult as I had to go up 2 steps before getting to the elevator, due to my mobility disability this was a task in itself.

The room was tiny (room 109), very basic but on a good point was very clean, would have liked tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The bathroom was clean but very small.

THE BAR

The bar area was pleasant and the costs were not bad for local produced drinks however if you venture further to non local produced drinks prices were very high.

BREAKFAST

We had the breakfast included in the hotel cost however if you did not they were charging 16 euros per person, which was a ridiculous price for what was offered and the quality of the food was very poor.

INTERNET

Good point the hotel offers free wifi in the hotel.

Would not stay here again.

Went as a family of four to celebrate my 40th birthday.. Got the Aerobus to placa de catalunya and you are literally 1 minutes walk to the hotel..Reception area and bar lovely. Staff were very helpful and within 10 minutes of checking into our room the waiter brought up four bottles of complementary bottled water. The family room was a good size compared to other hotels in Barcelona which i have previously stayed in.. Nice wee touch of bathrobes and slippers in bathroom and all the toiletries you need are there if you havent brought your own. Room cleaned daily and i really cant fault.. didnt have breakfast so cant comment but starbucks bascially next door so you wont be stuck. Even though very central and within minutes of las rambla's it was very quiet. When we came back to the room on the night of my birthday a lovely chocolate cake had been left as a gift from the hotel..All the little touches made our trip very special...hope to return very soon...

Went as part of a group of 4 girls for a friend's 30th. Got a decent price through expedia and very pleased. Really nice boutique hotel. Staff were very friendly on front desk, and happy to help us plan tours. I loved some of the little touches like the collection of old maps by reception!

Rooms were spotless and cleaned daily. Nice toiletries. We struggled with the air-con and not sure it worked the whole time. Not much in the way of a view, but wasn't in Barcelona to look out of hotel window!

Be aware lift is tiny, so helps if you can carry luggage up stairs!

Perfect location, near to Las Ramblas, Old Town (much better for meals!) and Metro. Felt safe walking back at night as well. Definitely recommended.
