Just back from a 3 night stay at the Colon Hotel. Really nice hotel, perfectly situated, staff couldn't have been more helpful. Breakfast was great, buffet style with lots of choice. Weather was rubbish, rained continously for 3 days. Would recommend the open top bus tours as you get to see most of Barcelona, whatever the weather! Barcelona has to be one of the cleanest cities I have been to, although it is worth bearing in mind that most of the cleaning, rubbish collections etc are done during the night so keep your hotel window closed or you will be awake all night. The Sagrada Familia brought tears to my eyes, what an amazing place and the undercover market, off La Rambla is a must see too. Would definitely recommend a trip to Barca, next time we will go a bit later in the year when the sun might shine, because those beaches looked lovely. Oh almost forgot, there are no public toilets in Barcelona so beware....
