What a great way to see a lot of Barcelona, get oriented and have some fun. Joao arrived at our hotel 15 minutes early, gave us instructions and got us on the bike. My 11 year old son rode in the side car and I rode behind Joao. Joao was a safe, slow, careful driver-respectful of traffic and I never felt unsafe. He drove us all over the city on the 4.5 hour tour - he tailored the tour to what we wanted to see. Throu the use of headsets on our helmets, he gave us some great history about the city and recent events as well. We stopped occasionally for short walks and even got some tea, coffee and hot chocolate, which we needed as it was a bit chilly that morning. Joao really enjoys doing this and it shows in how he treats his customers. I highly recommend this tour!

This was the highlight of our cruise. On arrival at the port the our transport was waiting, a very smart motorbike and sidecar. Our driver and guide was Matthias and he made the trip extremely interesting. We had been to Barcelona in the past but he showed us parts of the City where you wouldn't normally go on a coach trip. The transport was very comfortable and we felt completely safe. Matthias' knowledge was very comprehensive. We would thoroughly recommend this adventure to everyone and we will hopefully return to Barcelona again and will definitely book another motorbike trip.

If you can afford it, just do it! Great fun and more info than you would ever get on a walking, bus or even car tour!

Esther was our guide, handling the bike as a pro, even in raining weather. She was leery of riding in the raining weather, and made the call as to the safety of the trip. Fortunately, in between sprinkles, we were still able to take the tour, and I am glad that we did. We covered up and just moved on! If we had not been able to ride, due to weather, she was very willing to come up with alternate plans. For anyone concerned, Esther is quite accomplished in her bike handling skills, being somewhat of a female trail blazer in the biking community. No need for concern on any front for anyone as to the safety of the ride.

Esther tailored our tour to what was safe to see, (climbing hills on slick wet roads, may not have been the best) and to what we had already seen. She was GREAT! Full of knowledge, entertaining and just a breath of fresh air. Barcelona is her home, and she was very interested in showing us the city, not just the tourist locales. There is no way we would have ever seen the city like we did with this tour, without becoming a local ourselves. Of course we saw the "must sees", but we also saw and learned so much more, and had the benefit of a truly impassioned guide to lead the way.

We took the 4.5 hour tour, covered the majority of the sites, stopped for coffee, walked through the Parc Guell, stopped and took pictures at other sites and still had time to venture through lesser noted Barcelona neighborhoods. If you are questioning which tour to take, I would recommend the longest tour you can afford, as there is so much to see and they give you so much information. But even a short tour here is much better than a long tour anywhere else, and therefore worth it.

The bike is still a novelty in Barcelona, so yes, people look on with interest. Wear appropriate clothes for climbing in and out of the bike (flat shoes and warm clothes and no skirts, and remember you will be wearing a helmet, thus ponytails and hair ornaments will get in the way and not stop helmet hair). For those with back or knee/leg problems, or who are less than limber, the side car is comfy but still a tight area to maneuver in and out of, but don't let that keep you from the ride. (They are trying to make the ride more ADA friendly).

As this is a personalized tour, they take you where you want to go, give you personalized information before, during and after the tour and pick you up and drop you off where you ask. Joao and Esther did all of this, even with our very last minute change of plans, which we are extremely grateful.

If time is of the essence, and even if it is not, this tour cannot be beat! Just do it, first thing in Barcelona, as it is a true delight and worth ever penny!!

All the reviews did not disappoint. Joao met us promptly at the designated time and place, and was so informative and nice, and it was one of the best 4 hours of this trip, that at the end, we wanted to invite him to a drink or meal if he didn't have another tour to attend to. It was very fun and informative, and we really feel like we know the city well at the end.

We took the half-day tour. Esther was our guide. We arranged the tour for the afternoon of the day we arrived in Barcelona. Esther arrived ahead of time, briefed us on th sidecar the audio equipment and safety guidelines, then we wee off on a wonderful, comprehensive tour of Barcelona. Plenty of stops and chances to ask questions. Very safe and comfortable. Couldn't beat being in the open air - and everyone looks at a passing sidecar. We saw all the main tourist attractions and gained a great appreciation for the layout, history and culture of Barcelona. What a great way to start off our time in Barcelona. We plan on takng the tour again the next time we're in town. Thanks to all the BrightSide team, but especially Esther for being our guide.
