A pretty small restaurant with comfortable outdoor seating with a nice breeze.

The Chichen Croquettes and Garlic Prawns were great. Also, very large, good tasting Sangria :)

Perfect stop off for lunch whilst perusing the city lanes.

We were staying around the corner from this restaurant and were starving, coming back from a long walk on the beach and as it was early (5pm) most restaurants were not open for dinner yet and we tried El Cafe de la Casa de Les Lietres as it looked nice with a tasty menu.

We had the Croquetas De Jamon and Crujiente De Gambas for starters as we were right beside the sea and of course Barvas Clasicas (why not!) All very tasty. We followed with the Paella Mixta as it would be rude to visit Barcelona and not try Paella. It was quite good and we cleared the lot.

For desert we tried the Crema Catalana a type of creamer brûlée which was
lovely.

The restaurant was very quiet as it was early so we had the full attention of the waiter until other guests arrived and he was very friendly.

A nice first dinner in Barcelona after a long day walking. Nice food and friendly service.

Thank Ronan M

We choose for this one because of a nice terrace in the sun. Kind waiter and some good sandwiches: we had a good lunch !

Sidenote: be aware of the pickpockers in the area around the terrace

I had breakfast here the last day of a two week trip to Italy and Spain. The cafe was right next to our hotel and the dinner menu looked really intriguing. They indicate that they work with farms to source local ingredients for their menu.

The cafe itself is quite lovely with comfortable seating. On the Saturday morning that we had breakfast there, four or five local gentlemen were sitting at the very front of the cafe having a very lively (read: loud) conversation. They apparently had every intention of staying there for quite a while and they managed to chase the other non-local patrons to the outdoor seating.

The menu featured several breakfast options, some of which sounded very robust. An American breakfast, and English breakfast, a French breakfast, and a Catalan breakfast. I've always tried to eat like a local, so I ordered the Catalan breakfast and was very disappointed. Where the other ones offered what sounded like a hearty/filling breakfast, the Catalan breakfast was maybe three slices of two kinds of cured sausage, two slices of cheese, half a grilled sausage, and a small chunk of baguette toasted with tomato relish.

I'm sure other dishes are delicious, but this one left me very underwhelmed.
