“Lovely hotel, great location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 March 2012

When I booked this hotel, I had a panic and thought it was too far away from everything. However we were so happy to be walking around such a beautiful easy to get around city that we didn't care. We walked everywhere, and sometimes got a taxi home.
The hotel rooms are great, it is a boutique hotel, which means there is not lobby or bar, but that's fine with me. I have to say the ladies at breakfast were lovely, however they didn't clear tables and we were often left standing waiting for a breakfast table. I think they were not used to having a full hotel, we stayed 17th March weekend. We loved the food and we were really lucky with the restaurants we found. Go to the Garcia area, it's very local to the hotel and is very typical of where the locals hang out. I would do go back to this hotel.

Room Tip: Choose a room on the upper floors, we were on 6th floor, the rooms next to the breakfast room are pr...

Stayed in Wilson Boutique Hotel from 14-19 February and am very satisfied with it!

Booked a standard room with a Queen-sized bed. Rather small but the room is beautifully designed with feint lighting coupled with darkish colored walls and furniture. Flat screen TV with many channels, a work desk, a small cupboard, mini fridge and safe (ask the hotel staff for the keys to it though). WiFi connection was good from the room, no problems connecting and staying connected throughout! Beautiful bathroom with complimentary shampoo, body bath and body cream.

Hotel staff are friendly, always ready to greet you when you return to the hotel. Helpful with providing tips and directions, booking of the Flamengo show, baggage storage etc...

Downside is the slight walk from the nearby train stations, Diagonal, Provenca and Hospital Clinic. No problems at all if you are without your bags but you may consider taking a bus/taxi if you are coming from the airport. There are also many bus services right at the door step of the hotel to take you around Barcelona.

Shopping wise, there are Zara, Mango and Massimo Dutti boutiques along the same stretch. Further down Av. Diagonal is El Corte Ingles departmental store and another 10 minutes walk will take you to L'ila shopping mall.

If you do not mind 10-20 minutes walks, the location of this hotel is superb!

Left the place very satisfied! Will definitely come back again!

3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 February 2012

Stayed from the 15th to 18th Frbruary with my wife and my 5 year old. Had booked a Family Suite as we needed two sleeping rooms, My initial reaction was one of slight disappointment as we were allocated a second floor room looking out to the college at the rear. The room was very dark and I would not class it as boutique. Furniture was extremely sparse and the wooden floor did not help with the overall feel of the room. However, it was clean, and having two sleeping rooms meant that we could enjoy a glass of wine whilst the little one was asleep. Location is great. Plenty of cafes restaurants within walking distance, a supermarket round the corner and a Turistic Bus stop and Metro stop within 5 minutes. Bit of noise at night, but only to be expected in the centre of the city.
Wi Fi in the room was excellent and there is use of a computer in the reception. Did not have breakfast, but room service coffee was good.
It did the job and we loved Barcelona, but next time, I would prefer a larger suite and a few more luxuries.

Room Tip: Suggest you ask for a room at the front on a higher floor level

Thanks for your comment. We are sorry that you didn't like the family room.
All rooms overlook the street and have large windows, but it is true that the rooms facing the back street, on a lower floor and in winter may seem obscure. We will try to improve the lighting of the rooms, but the idea of lighting and the colors of the room are to give a feeling of warmth.
We would be very pleased to receive you again at the hotel, and that you can enjoy a room facing Diagonal Avenue and in an upper floor.
Thanks and kind regards.

We booked to stay at the Wilson through a Living Social Deal which meant we got a suite, Breakfast, Cava and fruit included. We upgraded our standard suite to the Attic Suite 801 for an extra cost which was more than worth it for the Panoramic views of the Diagonal and out across the city.

The room was perfect and so spacious, with double sink and showers as well as a humongous bed which had been decorated with rose petals for when we arrived. The service at the hotel was fantastic right from the friendly reception staff who checked us in to the lovely ladies who served at Breakfast. The Breakfast was well stocked with fruit, meats, cheeses, bread and pastries.

This hotel is perfect if you are looking for the design features and service of a higher star hotel and want to be close enough to the centre but away from the touristy areas, it is also within waddling distance of the Meatpacking District restaurant where I had the best meal of my life so make sure you read that review also!
