Place OK, horrific staff

2.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 6 Jan 2025via mobile
The place is ok. A bit far from most tourist attractions, but OK

The problem was the staff. Horrible.
Unhelpful everyone of them. First, when i wanted to get breakfast (not included) they insisted on me paying upfront, although they had my card on hold. I had to fetch some cash to eat... Don't even have the courtesy of letting me pay after.. Very rude.

Then they could not even be helpful witj basing orientation for a 24hs supermarket near by... Lazy, they just didn't care

Barcelona very nice, Capri by Fraser, not so much

Well the location is good. Not too far from all things to be but not great either. The room is spacious and it’s more like an apartment.
However it is not a hotel service level. There is no room service for the first few days, not consumables in the room.
But what really let this place down is the smell from the toilet that, unless windows are always kept open, render staying inside the room unbearable. I guess it depends of the room or maybe floor level.

The hotel is well located being close to many attractions, walking distance to most. The hop on hop off bus stop is very handy and the waterfront is also walking distance.
Breakfast at the hotel was good, and there are some handy places to eat nearby, plus a small supermarket which has all you need. The room was ok, not very big but clean. The bathroom had a smell that just would not go away, it was the drains and we ended up covering them with wet handtowels to try and stop the stink. The over bath shower had a shower screen that wasn't sealed at the base so water went all over the floor when showering, there was also no floor waste drain so again, towels had to be used to stop the water flowing out of the bathroom into the bedroom. The reception staff were ok without actually being friendly or even smiling much. They seemed to be a bit over tourists. The restaurant staff were nice.

We were looking for a two bedroom stay, because we were traveling with 2 kids. For budget reasons we chose tho stay a bit out of the centre, but still have. Four start accommodation. It was!’t worth it. Cleaning only happened once in the three days, mold is in the bathroom. No clean towels (only upon request) and not clean pillows. Such a dissapointment for the price we paid. Better stay in the city centre and pay a little bit more.

Room tip: Not in city centre and tooo expensive for what you get.

Perfectly acceptable apartment hotel. Kitchenette in the room, a laundry room with free washers and dryers, a passable gym, reasonably modern and with largish-for-Europe rooms.
This is probably not a location we would have chosen ourselves. It’s on the edge of an industrial/ business district that’s being gentrified with apartments and university accomodation, but the area itself is fairly quiet ( except for the drunken yelling at 2-4am when people leave the nightclub in the next street), but not many restaurants or bars nearby, yes a couple of isolated small ones, but not extremely near to a restaurant strip. That said, it’s close to 2 metro stations for the L1 and L3, so easy to get to all of the tourist landmarks. There are also various bus stops in the surrounding streets and close to the L4 tram, which is a short hop to Westfield Glories. I understand there’s also a hop-on-hop off bus stop close by. It’s about a 40 minute walk to the gothic district or el Born and about a 25 minute walk to the beach…so whilst the suburb was lacking I character and atmosphere,it was easy to get places.
Hotel had 24 hour reception and you could buy a couple of snacks at reception. The breakfast at the restaurant wasn’t flash, however perfectly suitable. The hotel lifts were small and slow, but they appeared to be building a third one while we were there.

This was an awesome place for our "home base" for our weeklong trip to the Barcelona area. Perks - we booked direct that allowed for free parking. The parking was underground in a secure garage. That was awesome. Having a kitchen meant we were able to save on breakfast. We bought eggs, bread for toast, yogurt, fruit, etc. The refrigerator worked well. There was also a stove and microwave. The location was within a couple of blocks of 2 metro lines that took us to either the Gothic Quarter area or the Sagrada Familia area. The bed in the bedroom was comfy. The other bed in the living room was not so comfy - could feel the springs through the mattress. AC also worked well. Fresh towels and garbage collected whenever we needed. Room cleaned every 3 days.

Room tip: We had 1 bedroom apartment. Spare bed not too good, but location and size was great.
