I had a lovely 6-night stay, 2 for pleasure, 5 for work. The hotel's setting on a convenient, bustling main street with the best city bus lines, just a 15-minute walk from Plaza Mayor, 10 minutes from the train station, is highly recommended. The sunny, airy lobby and cafeteria are a real plus. The staff, particularly the cafeteria/bar were professional and friendly.
The hotel is not very centrally located but of course that depends what you're there for... If you want to see the centre of the city, you'd have to walk quite a bit (or take a bus, that stops right outside of the hotel, almost). If you are a shopper then it is well located right next to the El Corte Inglés shopping centre. It is also in a walking distance from Miguel Delibes arts centre if you are in Valladolid for a concert or a cultural event (as I was), it is perfect.
Hotel is nice and friendly, and greeted me with a bottle of wine. Room was cute, on a smallish side but quite OK. Shower and toiletries provided were excellent quality.
Didn't have breakfast there so can't speak of their food level. I only stayed there for one day and was pretty happy with everything.
Another great thing - Free WiFi that actually worked!

Limited WIFI... If you are traveling with an Ipad/Iphone forget about using your apps... LAME!!!!
Bed was very good, but the lighting of the room was all white, very stressful for my taste...
This is supposed to be a 4 star hotel, in my opinion it's only 3 stars. Situated outside the center of Valladolid, near a large Corte Ingles. It takes almost half an hour to walk to the Plaza Mayor. Rooms are rather small. No atmosphere. Street parking is difficult, they have their own garage.
The Juan de Austria hotel is located at a main street in Valladolid, the Paseo de Zorrilla, although it is a 30min walk to the city centre, close to the Corte Inglés store
It is a basic, business trip hotel, with clean, ample rooms, a good room service and a nice check in desk service.
This hotel is just terrific. Attentive staff, very nice rooms, cleanliness everywhere, very nice breakfast buffet. The center of the city is just a 10-walk away. Shopping? Spain's biggest department store (El Corte Inglés) is right across the street. Melia Olid may be closer to the centre but that is also a problem as you have to put up with the noise from the street.
I strongly recommend this hotel.
