Easy to see what this small bar/café gets such good reviews. Lovely food and wine including lots of local dishes and a variety of cavas – recommended.

Back again after 3 years. Went two nights in succession. Tasty food at reasonable prices. Excellent house Mallorcan wine. Staff very attentive. Deserve to succeed and looks like they are achieving that.

Is it getting boring that my reviews of Palma are all 5*? Think a bit of me has fallen in love with the old town and the food and drink options from €€€€€ to € never a bad meal? Didn't read reviews on this old bakery - we just happened to stumble across it and I was curious about the gorilla (?) sign. Inside we managed to successfully walk straight past the huge oven in the main dining area and still not a scooby doo. It is the oldest bakery in Palma being 100s years old. Had a wee room all to ourselves. The menu was bigger than the room! Rather than choosing, we asked our friendly waitress to surprise us. OMG. Food was divine. A long glass dish of absolute yumminess, wooden platter of Mallorcan mmmmmm and of course the infamous courgette dish all washed down with lovely wine. Fantastic find. Now all you need to do is find it! I hope they're not on Google Maps...

5 minutes from the Centre of Palma.

There are lots of Tapas places in Palma and this appeared authentic Mallorcan.

The setting is nice and traditional, cosy.

The menu for me had something missing; as a man I wanted some man food like Chorizo in an olive oil bath, Gambas Pil Pil or some other substantial dishes.

What came was different and what I will say is that the dishes are based on much simpler foods like cold meats and cheeses, zucchini, salads and such things.

But overall, we were satisfied with this light bite ahead of drinks around Palma !

We were supposed to eat here the previous night - as recommended by our fab hosts at the 1902 Townhouse in Soller - but events conspired against us. So we decided to try for a cheeky lunch while waiting to go to the airport.
Everything was perfect - relaxed and friendly waiter (owner?) / really unusual flavours (the famous courgette carpaccio with pistachios and avocado, a 'marriage' of brown and white anchovies, octopus and potato with wasabi and a wonderful burratina salad with spinach, pine-nuts and papaya vinaigrette. The venue is an old bakery and looks like it would be a really fun evening when full of people at communal tables. Ours was a perfect relaxed lunch with just one other couple dining. We will definitely return.
