“Decent, value for money hotel in a good location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 September 2011

We did a lot of research before settling on the Tryp Bosque with a budget of £200 for 3 nights. Our twin room on the eight floor was cool(a/c worked fine), airy with a nice terrace, although the sun never settles on the front of the hotel. Mini supermarket opposite, and even larger one around the corner. Breakfast deal on a MAS (loyalty) card was 2-4-1, so nine euros for 2 x buffet style hot and cold breakfasts - very good value. Service was fine, with some good advise from the receptionists on where to go, although the overnight receptionist(male) was very grumpy when quizzed about buses at 7.30 in the morning. Pool was glorious, very quiet and not too cold, very welcome in 34 degrees this weekend. As mentioned elsewhere, mainly german/spanish clientele, with large numbers of Air Berlin staff, but the hotel is quiet, clean and decent - we couldn't really fault it for the equivalent of 'Travelodge' prices.

Very easy on the bus to/from the airport, thanks fellow Trip Advisers for your instructions for the No. 1 bus. Marina area is a short walk, maybe 10 mins , and the old town and cathedral around 25 minutes along the promenade. Buses made the city very easily accessable(No 3 from end of the road), and the immediate area around the hotel is OK, with a few nice looking prospects such as La Pergola.

Room Tip: Refuse a room on Floor 1, no terrace. Rooms overlooking pool are quieter, overlooking the road and s...

Our stay at this hotel was ok. The hotel will not take your breath away, but it is fince for a couple nights. The rooms are clean, but the beds are not that comfortable. Our fridge was broken and it took 24 hours before we got a new one.
On the positive side the hotel is along the bus route to the beach. The hotel also has a very large pool that is kept at a refreshing temp. This is perfect after a hot day out sight seeing. make sure to sign up for the MAS card (free online) so you get half price breakfast.

Room Tip: Don't get a room on the bottom floor it is very dark.

The only positive thing I can think of to say about this hotel is that at least the water in the pool was clean. But that's where the positive stuff ends.
The bed was shockingly hard, AC either didn't work or was too noisy, indifferent cleaning skills, grumpy staff and not enough of them, breakfast tables piled high with rubbish and not cleared, and never enough cutlery/crockery around. Sunbeds filthy and bare concrete round the pool, plus an indifferent lifeguard who had trash tv on blaring non-stop for his own amusement.
The only good thing about it was that it didn't take too long to walk to somewhere else.
I've stayed at other Tryps that are fine. This one is a shocker.

We stayed here for a weekend break in May. Although it's a decent hotel with proper rooms, it's a bit far from the centre of Palma for a weekend trip. Also a shame that the pool was closed. They promised us each day that it would open the next day, but it never did. The staff was friendly and fixed a problem we had quick. And the loads of Air Berlin crew made it feel like we were visiting Germany

I booked a room for just myself and got a triple room. I pad € 65,- per night via Booking.com which is quite cheap during high season. The hotel is big and very standard (70/80 interior). If you are looking for a reasonable accommodation in Palma this is your hotel. If you are looking for a hotel with style, soul or something special this is not your place. The nearest beach is Playa Major but you will have to take the bus. The neighbourhood of the hotel is not very attractive (old and a bit loud). In the weekends the district is packed with youngsters who are clubbing.

Palma is very nice and has an old (renovated) town with an impressive cathedral. At night all the monuments are lightened.
