I have just returned from a relaxing weekend trip in Palma. Melia Palma Bay tick every box for even most fussy traveller. Hotel is situated about 15 minutes bus ride from the airport, facing port and lovely long sandy beach. While it was a first time I have stayed in melia , I must say concept in clearly visable - to provide exceptional hospitality. I have chosen upgrate to level lounge with se crion of fine snacks and dishes available for whole day but also to relax with a glass of cava after discovering beautiful Palma or somethibg stronger in the evening. Hotel itself is very modern , providing relaxing atmosphere. I will definitely come back to Melia Palma Bay for another fabulous stay. On the end I would like to thank you Melia for amazing hospitality , delicious food and drinks cooked by very talented chefs, professional, superb reception and front of house staff that make me feel really like at home and goes to above and beyond expectation to provide 5 star service.

Great service from all the staff. The quality of the food and drinks at the Level is superb. Clean rooms and a very relaxing stay. The location is very convenient to get to and from the airport, and it is a pleasant 15 minute walk along the beach to the centre of the old town. Extremely highly recommended.

Melia Palma Bay is a really lovely hotel in a good location, we were a Hen party of 16 mixed age ladies, we did not book this hotel originally, we booked Melia Palas Atenea however a short time before we were due to go we had a message from Booking . com to say that hotel was no longer available to us ! we had a choice of three others, as this was the sister hotel we booked this one.
On arrival we were asked if we would like to upgrade to the Level package which worked out 50 Euros per room per night, it meant you got a better room, breakfast, snacks and drinks from 7am-11pm in the Level and spa access, as we were a hen party we thought this could work out well for us, however we soon realised that we couldn't use the Level until 4pm the first day not that that was explained, there was a convention going on ! we were a little annoyed but decided to go out to find lunch and come back at 4pm.
When we arrived back we went to the Level however after a very short time we were told in a very rude manner that we were making too much noise, we really weren't, we asked if we could take our drinks up to the roof bar as the sun was shining, we were told we could not, we understood about not wanting glasses near the pool but generally hotels give out plastic glasses round the pool. after a long time and more telling off for apparently being noisy we were reluctantly given some paper cups to use. We were told the Level was meant to be a quiet area ! why suggest to a group of ladies on a hen do to use an area which is meant to be quiet ! The worst thing was the staffs attitude towards us, we are not a crazy group, we were just trying to have a great time and make the weekend special for my future daughter in-law, whatever we did we were told off like school children, we were allowed to use the spa for 1 hour between 4-5 so certainly not unlimited access, the Level was not busy in fact there was hardly anyone in there, but we were constantly in trouble.
This really is a business hotel not geared up for groups of any sort.
Such a shame as the Hotel really is lovely but the staff were quite rude to us which was uncalled for, maybe they should specify they don't welcome groups of ladies.

Room Tip: we were on floor 8, very nice views

Being someone who is well-traveled and who has experience in the hospitality world, I am absolutely disgusted with the customer service we have received at Melia Palma Bay over the weekend.

We chose to visit Palma for a hen weekend (February). We chose Palma as a location and Melia Spa hotel as we wanted to have a more relaxing, luxurious and family-orientated hen weekend than a stereotypical party weekend. We originally booked Melia Palas Atenea in Palma but were told they had overbooked a month or so before the trip. Melia provided an alternative and promised we would receive a very similar experience and standard of stay at their sister hotel, Melia Palma Bay.

On arrival at Melia Palma Bay, we were offered an 'all-inclusive' offer which included a room upgrade, all you can eat food and drink throughout the day and use of the spa facilities. After paying up front for our room and this offer, it soon became very clear we had been mis-sold this offer. There was a conference on at the hotel which took up all of the hotel facilities and left us with no access to ANY food or drinks until 4pm (we had arrived at around 12pm). On discovery of this, we decided to go up to the roof top bar, which is advertised and beautifully pictured on the hotel's website. One we got up there, we realized this would not be an option. The bar was completely closed and the pool was sectioned off with work being completed. There was no where at all in the hotel at this point to even buy a soft drink or some water. It quickly became clear that the hotel was largely a hotel focusing on business customers and that to stay as leisure tourists was going to be a terrible experience.

On the second day, the lounge/'bar' (which is a table with some bottles to help yourselves) was open and we decided to get a drink to take up to the rooftop and watch the sunset. We were firmly told very quickly and rudely that this was not an option and that you could not take drinks to the roof. We therefore sat in the area on the 3rd floor and as a group of 16 were treated terribly for almost the entire rest of our stay. We were spoken down to constantly and all felt like the only words the hotel staff knew were 'can't, impossible and no'. To top this all off, you are also only actually permitted to use the spa facilities for one hour a day which you need to pre-book. We were hugely dissapointed with Melia Palma Bay, would never stay again and our stay has also damaged 16 potential future customer's perception of Melia as a brand. I may also add that the hotel is quite a long walk from central Palma, restaurants or the Marina. Despite it being out of season, us having booked 8 rooms and being originally let down with our initial booking, the staff were extremely unaccommodating, we were never able to speak to a manager and when you did query these issues with a member of staff you were more or less told to just get on with it with no negotiation, apology or resolution. NEVER EVER BOOK THIS HOTEL FOR A LEISURE STAY.

Comfortable new hotel with friendly and helpful staff'. Excellent service in the bar from Martin. Great selecion at the breakfast buffet every morning
Ideal location, 10 minute bus ride from the airport and a 20 minute stroll to the city centre.
